Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet
Here is superb advice for us:
Proverbs 4:20-27 My son, attend to MY words; incline thine ear unto MY sayings.
Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.
(God's words are life. The words of this world are often death. Deliberately keep God's words before our eyes and in our heart.)
Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.
Put away from thee a froward mouth, and perverse lips put far from thee.
(froward: stubbornly unruly) (perverse: twisted or incorrect lips)
Let thine eyes look right on, and let thine eyelids look straight before thee.
(Through prayer, look forward!)
Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established.
(Think about the way you are going. Pray and let God establish the direction of your feet.)
Turn not to the right hand nor to the left: remove thy foot from evil.

People can spew out deadly poison with their words. We can't afford to let the seeds of their words dwell our hearts. For in time evil seed will rise up in us if we fail to deal properly with that which they say that is perverse.
I have seen such evil come not just from the world but from people in our own church group.
You cannot afford to go asleep and take in every thing they speak to you. The Holy Spirit that is in us will remind us of their evil words so we can have opportunity to deal in a spiritual way with the evil, uprooting it from our heart.
Let it surface in your memory so you can pray over it, putting it to death through God.

Don't try to forget their words. That won't work. That won't put it to death.
Instead we must take every evil word to God in prayer and allow HIM to uproot the evil by HIS way. Then we will put their evil to death and crush their words from our heart.

And we must do this instruction:
* Put away from thee a froward mouth, and perverse lips put far from thee.
Froward:
- a person who is difficult to deal with, contrary
root meaning of "froward" is 'leading away from' ... I believe this means one who leads you away from the truth or the way of God, causing you to go in the flesh instead of walking in the Spirit of love, joy, peace, as in Galations 5.
Perverse lips:
- a person who speaks contrary to the accepted or expected standard: If that person is said to be the church and that person speaks things false and repeatedly shows carelessness with truth we must put that person away from us.
- turned away from what is right or good
- one who speaks in a manner in the church that is contrary to what is expected or accepted.
Put perverse lips far from you.
These are instructions we must do. We cannot go against these directions, especially with those who try to come among us as the church.
But also we should note those people in the world who are doing these things and avoid them.
