Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet
I would be concerned about the current presidential election in the USA and about this world, if I didn't know the following scriptures which present truth for us who believe in God.
Daniel 4:25 ... the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever HE will.
Psalm 75 ... 6 For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south.
7 But God is the judge: HE putteth down one, and setteth up another.
II Peter 3 ... 10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. 11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, 12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?
13 Nevertheless we, according to HIS promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.
14 Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.
Jesus said ... "My kingdom is not of this world." Jn. 18:36
God showed the apostle John "a new heaven and a new earth" and a new city, "new Jerusalem" created for the people of God and John says this present earth will have passed away.
Revelation 21 ... 1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth:for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.
2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. 4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain:for the former things are passed away.
5 And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new.
This present earth will be destroyed by God and a new heaven and new earth will be created for the people of God. At the coming of Jesus the people of God, both the dead and the living, will be caught up, rise, into the clouds to meet Jesus. (We will rise in "spiritual bodies" ... I Cor. 15) We will no longer live on this present earth but on the new earth created by God.
I Thess. 4 ... 13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep (dead, in graves), that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. 14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent (precede) them which are asleep (dead).
16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God:and the dead in Christ shall rise first:17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air:and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.
It is very important for us to understand that we will meet Jesus and those who have died in Christ, "in the air" ...
When we understand these scriptures, we should find it easier to set the present activities that seem so important away and not be concerned about governments of men.
God is in charge! And God protects HIS own people.
I Thess. 5 ... 1 But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. 2 For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. 3 For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.
4 But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. 5 Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day:we are not of the night, nor of darkness. 6 Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober. 7 For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night. 8 But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation. 9 For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ, 10 Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.
11 Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.
God has HIS own purpose. There are times God exalts a ruler in order to bring wrath on a disobedient people, as HE did with judging Judah and raising up a king to take the nation of Judah into captivity.
God works circumstances according to HIS plan and HIS will.
Things are going to get very bad before Jesus returns.
Jesus explains ... Mt. 24 ... 12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. 13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
We can see things of this world getting even worse than they were in previous decades although wickedness has been all over the world since the days of the apostle John who said: 19 And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness. I Jn. 5
The apostle Paul told us in the last days, perilous times would come and Paul said: But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived. II Tim. 3:13
Paul told us to continue in the things God has taught us and in the Holy Scriptures which are able to make us wise unto salvation through Christ. II Tim. 3:14-17
Here is a very important instruction for us in the last days ...
Hebrews 10 ... 22 Let us draw near (to God) with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water. 23 Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for HE is faithful that promised;) 24 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another:and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
We must do much more reading of Bible and godly exhortation, putting away this world and the activities of this world which will trouble us if we watch them.
I looked at about 3 minutes of the news coverage leading into the Republican convention last night.
Then I turned TV off, and began reading one of the ministry books which we have published on Amazon (see: Joan Boney on amazon.com)
I never turned TV back on. TV will not edify me in the faith in God.
We might peek at what they are doing ... but we know our hope is not in men of this present world but in God who promises never to leave us nor forsake us. (Heb. 13:5)
As the time grows more evil, we need to choose Bible and godly exhortations for ourselves.
