Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet
People who go in the way of this world take on a terrible yoke for this life ... and profit nothing in the next life.
People who learn to go in the way of godliness profit both in this life and in the one to come.
Recently a woman said she was a single mother of two children and she worked and gave her children all they needed because of her job. Her job was secretary to a very rich man where she had to constantly cover for him until he was eventually arrested and put in prison.
People often think they give everything to their children when they provide money to buy them things of this present world and send them to "good" schools.
Living a godly life is one of the greatest gifts you could ever give your children.
People take on many terrible yokes based on ways of this world.
Paul explained that "godliness" is profitable for all things ... having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come. I Tim. 4:8
And what is godliness?
If you really belong to God, you know what godliness is, for God has written HIS "laws" into your hearts and minds. Heb. 8 & Heb. 10 ... The New Covenant.
Jn. 18 ... 36 Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world:if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews:but now is my kingdom not from hence.
If Jesus' kingdom was of this present world, then we, HIS servants, would fight to make this world a better place. But this world is not going to be better but worse says the Bible. So all that time spent trying to improve this present world with secular improvements is a vain work.
John said ... 19 And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness.
20 And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life. I Jn. 5
Paul told us evil men and seducers would wax "worse and worse" deceiving and being deceived ... II Tim. 3:13
Our hope is not in this world .... nor in these people .... Bible tells us what will happen in the end.
People will get worse and more deceptive. II Tim. 3
Eventually this present heaven and this present earth will pass away. II Peter 3
If you are focused on making this world a better place you are going against scripture which shows us what will happen.
Instead, focus on things of God ... serving God ... living honest lives ... patiently waiting for the return of Jesus and keeping yourself in the ways of God while you wait, not expecting this present earth to be righteous, for if you do that you deceive yourselves. The Bible tells us this world will never be righteous.
Abraham and those great men and women of faith spoken of in Hebrews 11 knew they were just strangers and pilgrims on this earth, passing through ... 16 But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly:wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God:for he hath prepared for them a city.
God gave John a glimpse of that city that is prepared for those who truly belong to God and serve Him as they wait on this present earth.
Revelation 21 ... 1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth:for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. 2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and HE will dwell with them, and they shall be HIS people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. 4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain:for the former things are passed away.
5 And HE that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And HE said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.
II Peter 3 ... 10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. 11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, 12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? 13 Nevertheless we, according to HIS promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.
14 Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of HIM in peace, without spot, and blameless.
You see ... all those people who fight for politics, thinking if only their government can gain power things will get better, they fight in ways that will never improve things, for this world will be destroyed.
Set your affection on things above, not on things on this earth. Col. 3:1
Hope in God ... not in man.
Do that which is right in the sight of God while you live on this present earth.
Learn to follow the Spirit of God which is in you rather than the wisdom of man.
Be content having food and raiment.
Serve God always, doing HIS will.
And how do I know HIS will?
God says: I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts:and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people: Heb. 8 & Heb. 10
If you belong to God, HE has put "HIS laws" in you so you know.
I am acquainted with a very religious Catholic woman who is constantly going about trying to do good works ... the problem is, she doesn't know what good works are. She is constantly focused on worldly "good" works, such as supporting boys clubs while she, herself, rejects scriptures and serves her church.
God gave me a dream about this woman. She fell and behind her was a church building with fire shooting out of the roof and out of all the windows. Firemen were racing to the building to try to save it but there was no way this church building would be saved.
Recently I read a book about the fall of Bernie Madoff.
One of those he swindled was the movie actress Zsa Zsa Gabor. When she learned of the loss of money, she fretted greatly. She was 98 years old at time this book was written. And she was concerned over loss of money? Unbelievable! Doesn't she realize she will leave this world and money and such things very shortly? Of what good will it be to her then?
Are we fretting over anything of this world?
It is time for us to consider ourselves.
It seems that most people don't really understand how little time is left for them here on this present earth.
David prayed: So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom. Psalm 90:12
If your mind is fixed on anything you can see with your natural eyes, you are in trouble.
