Earlier today I mislaid my phone so a little while later when I needed it, I couldn't find it. I looked around the house a couple of times, retracing my steps, but still didn't see it.
 
I was feeling frustrated with myself because I do this type of thing often, putting something down, paying no attention to what I am doing and then later having to search for it.
 
After this, I sat down to read the Bible when the thought came to me ... You could ask God to help you. (I knew this had to do with my missing phone).
 
Of course! So I did ask HIM to please help me find it and heard ... Go into the bedroom and look. I had already looked there but went back because this is what I heard to do. I walked into the bedroom and, as I passed the vanity, I saw my phone partially hidden by some taller items .... but there it was!
 
Our Heavenly Father, always watching over us, helping and guiding us, no matter how large or small a problem we may have!

I was on my desk top computer scrolling thru some recent e-mails and suddenly my computer did a large quick scroll and stopped at an email from Joan (Boney). At first I was confused, knowing that Joan had died, but then I noticed the date of the email which was August 30, 2017 12:20 PM. I sat there trying to digest what I was reading. 
 
I began to read this email from Joan, knowing God must have a message for me considering the age of this email. The subject of this email was “Work Out Your Own Salvation, Phil. 2:12”. Joan proceeds to explain to us how to do this . 
 
It’s a beautiful and to the point, outline, basically a way to keep our salvation alive and fresh and strengthened as we endure this time on earth which is getting worse and worse. But we will endure if we renew our minds as Joan states in this email. It’s an outline for Godly success as I see it!
 
I have struggled at times recently and this information puts things in perspective for me in my life and strengthens my trust and faith in God. 
 
So glad God brought this 8 year old email to my attention. He knows what we need and exactly when we need it!

As we grow closer to the return of Jesus, the Bible tells us to expect the sins to increase around us.

A warning from Jesus about this:

Matthew 24:12-13    And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.  But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

I believe Jesus is saying there is a danger in the increasing sins of this world, that the love of many for the Word of God will wax cold.

The apostle Paul said:  Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.  Philippians 2:12

We have many resources to which we can refer in doing this.

Certainly we pray for God to give us HIS wisdom daily as we plan out our daily endurance.

Paul once told Timothy: 

Until I return, give yourself to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine.

I think this would mean:  

* Spend time daily reading the scriptures

* Share the good things of God with those around you, warning them as needed, building them in the faith as you have been encouraged by God in your own life

* Renew your mind to the doctrine of Christ as stated in the Bible, for antichrist and the apostasy teaches something that is opposite to doctrine shown us in Bible, therefore it is important for us to keep reading those doctrines presented in the Bible, especially concerning divorce/remarriage, fornication, adultery, homosexual/lesbians, and works of the flesh such as drunkenness which the world today is calling a disease rather than a sin as the Bible says.

We might have to work to keep our love for the Word of God in the matter at hand in these last days before Jesus returns.

Singing and making melody in your hearts ... is helpful.  

Keeping scriptural based hymns in us, such as "Blessed Assurance", is very helpful.

I'm so often bored at television.

Why do I keep flipping channels?

Instead why don't I spend time nightly re-reading such things as the following:

Holy Bible:  New Testament

Psalms

Proverbs

Books:  Exhortations for the Church  (By Joan Boney ... Vol. 1-12   ... Amazon)

With the 12 volumes available through Amazon, I could take one exhortation book per month and read some uplifting, godly writings daily.  There are enough exhortations in the volumes to cover 365 days of the year.  These reminders in the way of God should strengthen us.


I could read the story of one OT example per day and benefit and keep my focus on things of God helping me to endure.

I'm certain reading these books daily would strengthen us in the faith in God and help us to endure.

For myself, I think I am going to try to set up hours throughout the morning, afternoon, and evening where I spend time reading godly exhortations such as these, instead of being bored with TV.

We have to "work" at our own salvation, says Paul.

Make an effort.  Endure this time by renewing your mind through Bible and godly exhortations morning, afternoon, evening.  

Romans 12:2   And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

The Holy Spirit brings to our mind scriptures and concepts to show us the will of God and the way we are to go in this present life.

We live in peace on this earth, by doing that which is brought to our mind by the Spirit of God.

And we are cleansed by The Word when the Holy Spirit brings to our mind information and we make changes to our lives and go in the way of That Word.

Jesus says:  John 14:1-5  I (the Word) am the true vine, and MY Father is the husbandman.  Every branch in ME that beareth not fruit HE taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, HE purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.

3 Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.  


(When we do That Word, we go in a way of godliness.)

4 Abide in ME (live in MY word), and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in ME.

5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in ME, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without ME ye can do nothing.

My son Ian came over a couple days ago. He is the one with whom the Spirit intervened after the battle with evil influences a couple weeks ago.  (To see this account, please click here:  Report of God healing adult aged son)
 
 After this battle, my husband and I were led to leave it alone. I never spoke to him about the battle or results shown to us. We also received word from God stating, "I am not finished with him yet"
 
He was over delivering equipment that he borrowed. He and I were in the house alone. He was walking around looking and pacing. 
 
I was impressed to say that to get into heaven, you have to know Jesus Christ. It is not enough to be a "good person". I said that to him. He did not say anything. He left shortly thereafter. 
 
Since then, I wondered if I did the right thing. Today I was reading the above scripture, Proverbs 25:11-12, and was reminded of the word I had spoken. I rejoiced and knew that he was the obedient ear. 
 
Praise God for His Word to us that guides and leads us.

πŸ’₯ II Timothy 4 (Reading through the Bible)

 
I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and His kingdom;

Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine.

For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

(Many lust after humans ... their desire is toward the human instead of being toward the Word of God.)

But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.

For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand.

I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:

(Each of us have different courses.  It is important to run our own race, doing the work and the way God has assigned.)

Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love His appearing.

Do thy diligence to come shortly unto me:

πŸ’₯ Turning to God with a problem ...

πŸ’₯ Podcast: When they openly declare their sins before all, bringing destruction upon themselves

Isaiah 3:9 The shew of their countenance doth witness against them; and they declare their sin as Sodom, they hide it not. Woe unto their soul! for they have rewarded evil unto themselves.

In WWII people committed many types of Biblical sins: adultery, fornication, drunkenness, homosexual, lesbian, and such, but they did these sins in secret.

To declare your sins openly without shame as we see today, is as the sin in Sodom for which God destroyed Sodom.

In Genesis 19:13, the angel discloses the following:  "For we will destroy this place, because the cry of them is waxen great before the face of the LORD; and the LORD hath sent us to destroy it."

When their sins reach into heaven, God is aroused and takes action, judging those people who bring their sins to HIS attention.

Thus we see how God's judgment is hanging upon this present world where there is no shame for sin.

Time in the sight of God is described as follows: But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. (II Timothy 3:8)

The judgment of God is coming upon this world in the form of the great tribulation, the 14 plagues.

After that this present heaven and earth will be destroyed by God by fire.  (II Peter 3:10)

The righteous ones of God will be removed from this present earth and taken in their new spiritual bodies to the new heaven and the new earth wherein dwelleth righteousness.  (Revelation 21:1-5)

We will not have these earthly bodies in heaven.  (I Corinthians 15:49-52)  We will have spiritual bodies in heaven which are not subject to decay, pain, emotions.  We will be as the angels of God in heaven. 

We live in a time where the sins are as the sins of Sodom, they are not hiddenThis is a prelude to the wrath of God that is coming upon this present world.

Matthew 11:20   Then began HE (Jesus) to upbraid the cities wherein most of His mighty works were done, because they repented not:

Matthew 21:32   For John came unto you in the way of righteousness, and ye believed him not: but the publicans and the harlots believed him: and ye, when ye had seen it, repented not afterward, that ye might believe him.

Revelation 9:20   And the rest of the men which were not killed by these plagues yet repented not of the works of their hands, that they should not worship devils, and idols of gold, and silver, and brass, and stone, and of wood: which neither can see, nor hear, nor walk:

Revelation 16:9  And men were scorched with great heat, and blasphemed the name of God, which hath power over these plagues: and they repented not to give Him glory.

Revelation 16:11   And blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores, and repented not of their deeds.

The terrible thing today is their lack of shame over that which they are doing.

So many women show no shame over becoming pregnant outside of marriage.

Homosexuals and lesbians often flaunt their sins before our eyes with no shame and no recognition at all that what they are doing is a sin in the sight of God.

Drunkards seek pity and often attribute their drunkenness to a medical problem instead of sin.

But the Bible shows us that drunkenness is sin:  

I Corinthians 6

Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate (homosexual), nor abusers of themselves with mankind,

10 Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.

Galatians 5:19-21

19  Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,

20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,

21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

1  This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.

2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,

3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,

4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;

5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

The wrath of God judges the disobedient at the coming great tribulation:

Romans 1:18  For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;

Ephesians 6:5   Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.

Revelation 14:10   The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of His indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:

Revelation 16:1   And I heard a great voice out of the temple saying to the seven angels, Go your ways, and pour out the vials of the wrath of God upon the earth.

The 14 plagues of the wrath of God will be poured out upon this earth during the great tribulation and after that this present heaven and earth will be destroyed by God with fire.  (II Peter 3:10-14)

This is coming.

(By verse 5, we see Paul is speaking of people who attend churches ... The "perilous times" happen in the church groups.  A little leaven leaventh the whole lump. )

(In form they appear godlly, but they deny the power of the Holy Scriptures to rule over them ...)


For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,

Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith.

But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as their's also was.

10 But thou hast fully known my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, charity, patience, 11 Persecutions, afflictions, which came unto me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured: but out of them all the Lord delivered me.

We, who are of God, will have a Word from God called to our mind from time to time.  As we focus on that Word, God is showing us what to do concerning the issues of this present life.  

And as we keep doing that Word, we will later know the truth of the situation with which we are dealing.

John 8:31-32  

31  Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on HIM, If ye continue in MY word, then are ye MY disciples indeed;

32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

(Comments from Pam Padgett) It can help us keep ourselves in peace when we see troubling things done by those of this world if we focus on the fact that, like Jesus, our kingdom is not of this world.  We are simply strangers and pilgrims on this earth.  Our desire is for the better country, an heavenly, prepared by God for us.   
 

Colossians 1-4
  If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.

2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.

3 For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.

4 When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with HIM in glory.

Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.

And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.

Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.

No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please Him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.

And if a man also strive for masteries, yet is he not crowned, except he strive lawfully.

The husbandman that laboureth must be first partaker of the fruits.

(You can't just talk about faith.  You must first live faith and then you can talk of faith.)

Consider what I say; and the Lord give thee understanding in all things.

Remember that Jesus Christ of the seed of David was raised from the dead according to my gospel:

Wherein I suffer trouble, as an evil doer, even unto bonds; but the word of God is not bound.

10 Therefore I endure all things for the elect's sakes, that they may also obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.

11 It is a faithful saying: For if we be dead with Him, we shall also live with Him:

12 If we suffer, we shall also reign with Him: if we deny Him, HE also will deny us:

13 If we believe not, yet HE abideth faithful: HE cannot deny himself.

πŸ’₯ Podcast: What it will be like in heaven. What Bible shows us.

In heaven, we will not have these current physical bodies.  God will give us a new body as it pleases HIM.  (I Corinthians 15)

In heaven:  there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.  (Revelation 21:4)

The reason we have physical pain today is because we live inside these physical bodies.  Also we have emotions of the flesh because we live today inside these physical bodies.

Before we are taken into heaven, we will be changed out of these physical bodies.

I Corinthians 15:51-52   Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep (die), but we shall all be changed,  In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

Blink!  That is how fast we will be changed before we are taken into heaven.

Another thing about heaven:  We will not remember this earth.

Isaiah 65:17   For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind.

We will have new spiritual bodies and our family in heaven will be all in heaven for all who are in heaven will be the children of God, the righteous of God.
 
God and the Word (Jesus) will be our focus and our light.

The new Jerusalem, the new heaven:

Revelation 21

1  And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.

2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and HE will dwell with them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself shall be with them, and be their God.

4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

5 And HE that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new.

This present heaven and earth will be destroyed by God after the great tribulation:

II Peter 3

10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

11  Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,

12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?

13 Nevertheless we, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.

14 Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of Him in peace, without spot, and blameless.

There is no physical marriage as we know it today, in heaven.

So if a man has multiple wives, which will be his wife?  said the Sadducees to Jesus.

Mark 12:24-25   Jesus says:   Do ye not therefore err, because ye know not the scriptures, neither the power of God?

25 For when they shall rise from the dead, they neither marry, nor are given in marriage; but are as the angels which are in heaven.

(I find many Christians do not know the above truth.)  

On this present earth, if your mate dies, you can marry again (but only in the Lord).  I Corinthians 7 ... Paul says this to the women but I think the same would apply to a man who is a Christian, for why would any real Christian want to marry an infidel?

Scriptures pertaining to this hymn:

God, by HIS Spirit, brings thoughts to our minds to comfort us, to show us what to do, to stabilize us in times of trial.  Sometimes God will give us a dream to help us.  And God uses angels from time to time to deliver messages to us.  

John 14:26    But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in MY name, HE shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
