Through Prayer: Working through a problem, trying to get at truth through prayer getting God's view which is truth.

We must live in truth to be safe in our walk on this earth. 

If we perish here we want the persecution against us to be "for the word's sake" and not because we were walking in error.

It is critical for us to seek truth from God.  HE will show us truth about those things people say and do on this earth.

We need to go to God in prayer, fervently seeking truth through God when the question of truth arises.

One morning, I awoke at 9:30 AM,  troubled over a woman who is a church woman living in Lubbock where I live.

When I am talking with her, things arise which she says which are not true and I have to sort through the truth to try to establish the truth.

The first thing she said which was not true, I dealt with immediately for I had just seen the information about this product and I knew what this church woman said was not true.  I told her truth abut the product and told her she needed to straighten up her thinking concerning this.  She did go for information and corrected herself and stopped saying the falseness about this company.

But on the second matter, I didn't know she was wrong.  So I let it go.  But God didn't let it go.  God awoke me with the subject and then I went to Internet to check out the matter.  I even drove to the location of the new store which she had said was not the way it was.  I confronted her with truth and she said she was mixed-up.  Sounds innocent enough.  But much confusion came as a result of this.

(Also she gave a very negative report about my eye doctor and now I question, "Was her report really true or only true in part."  I am praying for God to show me truth in this for it is a very serious matter.)

When I awoke troubled over this woman,  I spent the entire morning in prayer, pleading with God for the truth.

"Is there some deficiency in me in dealing with this woman, in talking to this woman? Am I part of the problem?  If I am part of the problem and if I am failing to act correctly toward her, I need to know it so I can repent."  (my fervent prayer to God.)

As I sat there before God in prayer, refusing to give up, seeking God's truth, I felt strongly God would communicate with me in a way I can understand and accept.

If I am at error, I need to correct myself before going further.

As I waited, scripture began being called to my memory.

- Our sufficiency is of God.  II Corinthians 3:5

- God has made us accepted in the beloved.  Ephesians 1:6

When there are such conflicts with another person, often truth and fiction gets mixed together so we need to have God set the truth firmly that we can focus on truth and not explain truth away.

In this case, here is what God brought forth to me as truth as I prayed and waiting.


Twice she was not walking in truth, for whatever reason, but she strongly spoke it "as truth," but it was delusion … to strongly maintain something is truth when it is not truth is delusion … but to her credit, she backed down from her position …. yet harm can be done when she lives in delusion … especially when she is supposed to belong to God.

This was over secular matters but truth is important in all things.  And God knows the truth when there is controversy and God is able and willing to explain it to us who belong to HIM because God does not want us to walk in falseness even in secular ways.

We must be valiant for the truth in secular as-well-as spiritual issues. 

We might not know the truth but God does.  And HE will show us when we desire the truth with all our heart.

When Jesus sent HIS disciples out, Jesus said:

Matthew 10:26    Fear them not therefore: for there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known.

For us to live in peace and in truth, prayer is critical.

I am learning to STOP, to do nothing but prayer, when I am troubled by a person or by anything.

When this happened, and I awoke troubled, I didn't take my usual shower and start my usual day.  I just got out of bed, sat there in my chair in my bedroom,  and pled with God.  I told God I needed to know truth immediately.  I couldn't do anything until HE showed me truth.

So I sat there praying and waiting to be shown by God and expecting to be shown by God. 

And I believe God sorted through all the twisted words and brought forth truth from the other words so I would know what happened and what was true.

We know the people  of the world speak lies.  But it is so serious when people of the church speak things that are false and we hear them say these false things.  It confuses us.  It must be sorted out before God if we are to live in both peace and truth.

Make no mistake:

The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.  James 5:16

We must sort through problems immediately seeking God.  HE has all truth in the matter.  So we seek truth from God in prayer in such times.

We cannot be of truth, of God, and walk in darkness for God is light and there is no darkness in HIM.  (I John 1) 

We, who are children of God, cannot walk in darkness.  We must be diligent and have a love of the truth.  Those who do not love the truth will be destroyed by God according to the Bible.

II Thessalonians 2:10-12    And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:  That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.  

Therefore we must maintain "a love of the truth" and walk in truth while we live on this present earth.

I John 1: 5-7    God is light, and in HIM is no darkness at all.

If we say that we have fellowship with HIM, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:

But if we walk in the light, as HE is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ HIS Son cleanseth us from all sin.
