When there is trouble

Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

We weaken ourselves spiritually and physically and can even hurt others if we forget to take our concerns to God and let HIM show us what to do, or if we ask God what we should do but fail to wait until God shows us what to do.

God is always right.

We are often wrong.

When you have a concern, learn to pray before talking to another human and wait until God shows you what to do.

Trust God to establish your thoughts on the matter.

Make God your trust, not other humans.

After you pray, you might not hear anything from God and after some time passes a human might say something and the light goes on and you realize that is exactly what you need to do.

Or God might show you immediately after you pray for wisdom.

Is our plan the wisdom from God?

Here is how we recognize the ideas that are from God.

James 3:17   But the wisdom that is from above is

first pure  (not based on envy or strife ... not trying to out do another person),
then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated,
full of mercy and good fruits,
without partiality,
and without hypocrisy.

When you don't know what to do, pray and wait for God to show you what to do.

James 1:5    If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

Philippians 4:6-7   Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto GodAnd the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

What are your "requests" ... What do you want to happen?

Recently I changed TV's and my sound system needed to be reset.  I made appointment to have the sound guy come set the speakers and processors.

Here are some of the "requests" I made to God in prayer before the sound man came to my house.

* Please help Patrick to see exactly what is needed.
* Please help the new settings to sound even better than the old settings.
* Please help the work to go quickly and easily.
* Please help me to stay out of the way while they work.

Every request I made to God was answered.  After the work, the sound was even better than before.

Whatever your problem,  what do you want God to do?

*   let your requests be made known unto God

This week, a woman told me her concerns over her puppy.

If she is telling me her concerns, it shows she has not prayed about her concerns or has not been established by God in that which she should do.

She had a concern about her new puppy.

She didn't know whether or not to take him to vet.  She wavered about in her own thinking, tossed to and fro ... "Should I ... Shouldn't I ... but what if this happens to him?"  She wrestled back and forth, over and over ...

Instead she should have settled the matter with God, putting her trust in God.  Praying first for God to show her what to do, then waiting until HE brings her the answer.

She did pray ... but did not wait for the answer ... She panicked and then made appointment with vet without being firmly led by God.  Then she had much dread over having to take puppy to vet.

Here is her report:

"I repent.  That I dreaded taking him to vet should have been my stop sign.  I should have prayed for peace if I was to take puppy to vet before making the vet appointment."

Often you will cast your care on another person if you fail to settle your concern with God in prayer.

James 1:5    If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

If you do ask God for wisdom, you must do such in faith that God will give you wisdom.  Keep the above scripture before you until you have faith to pray for help.

Believe that God will give you wisdom in the matter.

Wait until you are assured in what you should do.

Then do what you believe God showed you to do.

If there is dread about doing what you think you should do, you probably are going wrong way.

If it is something that is hard to do or extremely expensive, you probably do not have God's plan.

Recently in setting the sound equipment, I had two tables I thought would work well to use to set CD and DVD units on.

But when we set them on these tables, I thought they looked like "a sore thumb", standing out and calling attention to themselves in an unfavorable way.

I prayed that God would settle what to do to make this work and to do it quickly.

I looked on Internet on Amazon for end tables.  But each table I considered for the project had something wrong ... too tall, wrong color and such.

That night I needed go to pick up a DVD from a woman who lives a few blocks from my house.

(I felt God was leading me to ask this woman if she would drive to my house with me to see this project.)

She was pleased to do this.  When she saw it she said, "All you need to do is move that tall cabinet that holds books to another room, making the room feel less heavy." She said she would be glad to move it for me the next day.  She has gliders she uses to move larger items.

She liked the two tables I originally thought would work in the setting.

I realized all we had to do to was to put black construction paper behind the cabinets to make it appear as one unit.

The two tables looked good after we put the construction paper behind the entire presentation.

This fit with the wisdom that is from above:  pure, simple, easy, inexpensive

And we could do it quickly, as I had prayed it would be done.
