The Holy Spirit in us is "the Spirit of Truth."
Truth and being diligent to walk in truth is critical for us.
Jeremiah 9, being "valiant for the truth" means being diligent for the truth, seeking truth in spiritual and secular things and speaking truth... being determined to get the truth and to speak truth.
We must walk in truth in all things and speak truth in secular and spiritual things.
Jeremiah 9:1-9 ... God says ... Oh that MY head were waters, and MINE eyes a fountain of tears, that I might weep day and night for the slain of the daughter of MY people. Oh that I had in the wilderness a lodging place of wayfaring men; that I might leave MY people, and go from them! for they be all adulterers, an assembly of treacherous men.
Take ye heed every one of his neighbour, and trust ye not in any brother: for every brother will utterly supplant, and every neighbour will walk with slanders.
And they will deceive every one his neighbour, and will not speak the truth: they have taught their tongue to speak lies, and weary themselves to commit iniquity.
Thine habitation is in the midst of deceit; through deceit they refuse to know ME, saith the LORD.
Therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts, Behold, I will melt them, and try them; for how shall I do for the daughter of MY people?
Their tongue is as an arrow shot out; it speaketh deceit: one speaketh peaceably to his neighbour with his mouth, but in heart he layeth his wait.
Shall I not visit them (judge them) for these things? saith the LORD: shall not MY soul be avenged on such a nation as this?

2 John vv. 1-4 The elder unto the elect lady and her children, whom I love in the truth; and not I only, but also all they that have known the truth;
For the truth's sake, which dwelleth in us, and shall be with us for ever.
Grace be with you, mercy, and peace, from God the Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love.
I rejoiced greatly that I found of thy children walking in truth, as we have received a commandment from the Father.

If someone tells us something that is not true, and we repeat that untrue word, we are guilty also.
Therefore we are responsible to God to seek truth in all things, secular and spiritual, and speak that truth.
We will be judged by every idle word we speak. That is a sobering matter.
Matthew 12:33-37 Jesus says ... Either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by his fruit.
O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.
A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.
But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.
For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.
