I Timothy 4 & 5

16   Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.

The doctrine:  The teachings of Christ

Mt. 5:32   Jesus said:   But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery.

I Cor. 7:10-11   And unto the married I command, yet not I, but the Lord, Let not the wife depart from her husband:  But and if she depart, let her remain unmarried, or be reconciled to her husband: and let not the husband put away his wife.

Mt. 19:9   Jesus said:  And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery.

Mk. 10:11-12   And HE (Jesus) saith unto them, Whosoever shall put away his wife, and marry another, committeth adultery against her.  And if a woman shall put away her husband, and be married to another, she committeth adultery.

If a man divorces a faithful wife, and she remarries, that man will be the cause of her adultery.

The faithful wife who remarries after divorce will commit adultery.

The man who marries the divorced woman commits adultery.

If the woman leaves her husband she is to remain unmarried or return to her husband.

If woman remarries while husband is living, she commits adultery.  If husband is dead, woman can remarry but only "in the Lord", she can only marry another believer.

I Cor. 7:39   The wife is bound by the law as long as her husband liveth; but if her husband be dead, she is at liberty to be married to whom she will; only in the Lord.

Paul spoke the above scripture under the inspiration of God.  Some twisted minds today reason, "We aren't under the law."  Therefore they cast away the above doctrine.  Such minds are not looking for the truth but are looking for ways to eliminate doctrine.  They will deceive themselves and those who hear them.

The divorced woman cannot remarry.

The only scriptural reason for a man to divorce his wife is if she is unfaithful.  Then the man can remarry after this divorce.

But the commandment of the Lord for the woman is to remain unmarried or to return to her husband.

This is the doctrine of Christ.  There is no other.  To abide in HIM, live in this doctrine.

II John 9-11   Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.

If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed:

For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.

I Tim. 5-22   Lay hands suddenly on no man, neither be partaker of other men's sins: keep thyself pure.

*   Lay hands suddenly on no man

Don't be so fast to approve a person.  Let him show what he is and what he really believes.

*   neither be partaker of other men's sins: keep thyself pure.

Partaker:

- do not take part or share along with them
- do not participate

I once went to dinner with two women from Bridge Center.  They would lift their glasses and well wish each other (toast) and click their glasses together.  I just sat there, making no attempt at all to join them in this.

Recently a man knocked on my front door.  He was trying to sell me a security system for my house.  I did not shake hands with him when he reached out his hand to me.  I do not wish to be in agreement with this stranger.  I told him I do not want to buy a security system.  I want my security to be in God.  He left.

My cousin tried to convince me to attend a community dinner, gathering, in the small village where we attended school.  I declined.  She said, "You need to come back and see where your roots are."  My roots are in God, not in a place.

I'm amazed at the people who call themselves Christian who decorate graves.  What do they think they are doing?  A dead person is asleep and doesn't know anyone is decorating his grave.  Are they trying to impress the living who see them decorating a grave?  I don't know what they are doing.  I do not visit graves.

As a Christian, think about that which you are doing on this earth.

If you approve them and join them and are friends (supporters), you partake of their sins.  How can you keep from partaking?  Speak the truth.  Turn on the light.  If you sit there silently, allowing them to speak, they will believe you support them.  If you speak the truth as you know the truth, the light appears.  Do not participate.
