πŸ’₯ There is no variableness nor shadow of turning with God

James 1:17  Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. 
 
When we believe we have heard from God, showing us something HE wants us to do, for example, we set out on that path HE has put us on.
 
Then, more than likely, the devil will come along and try to persuade us that God doesn’t want us to do that. HE wants us to do something else or wants us to do nothing, at all. This happens to me all the time.
 
But, if we are persuaded it was God WHO spoke to us, then we go forward in the faith we have. 
 
This scripture tells us there is no “variableness” with God. What does this word mean? 
 
Variable - fickle; given to change; unstable; capricious; flighty
 
I looked at these definitions and asked myself if they described the nature of God. Of course, they don’t.
 
And “shadow of turning.” We humans may change our minds from day to day, going one way and then another, in a moment of indecision. But God doesn’t. And how blessed we are that HE doesn’t do that!
 
But the devil always wants us to turn and go in a direction opposite to what God, through HIS Holy Spirit, tells us to go.
 
My husband and I recently moved closer to where my adult aged children live. We did that because, for a period of time, God had been showing me that this is what we needed to do because as we aged we would need help with certain things and would not be able to get this where we were living, at that time, which was about a three hour drive from where they lived.
 
Then later thoughts would come to me that we should not move, that it would be a terrible mistake to do this. But, for one thing, I had too much evidence from God that it was HIM instructing me that we should move. And also, I was reminded that God is not fickle, given to change, telling us to do one thing one day and then do the opposite thing the next. 
 
I see the blessings we have been given by making this move. If God had not given me the wisdom to do this we would probably still be in the same multi-story house with a much bigger yard than we needed trying to hold things together with both of us becoming physically weaker rather quickly. 
 
Neither of my children is born again, at this time, but they have been so thoughtful in helping us with things. I think they are both relieved that we are now closer, especially at our ages.
 
When our house just outside of Charlottesville, Va. was on the market I would look at it online sometimes, but I never once felt sad when I did this. What I felt was a deep gratitude that God had let us live there for the 16 years we did and how much we enjoyed it and the beautiful countryside.
 
And now HE has led us here and I would not want it any other way. Where would any of us be, if we did not have God watching over us and leading us?

Psalm 37:4  Delight thyself also in the Lord: and HE shall give thee the desires of thine heart. 
 
This means: When we belong to God, HE will put HIS desires into our hearts. We will find we want to do something and we pray about it and we have no idea that God has planted HIS own desire for us into our heart! 

(Delight in "the Lord", in "The Word" given us by God by HIS Spirit.)

πŸ’₯ Podcast: God is the only one I can fully trust for HE knows the future

Some people will want to help us but they might not be able to do so. They do not know the future, but God knows the future. Other people are actually enemies of God, doing fleshly plans, and trying to get us to do what they do. Some would lead us but they do not know the will of God for us. 
 
When God gives me a word, I know I can do that plan safely. 
 
The devil brings his thoughts to steal, kill, and destroy me. (John 10:10) 
 
Humans bring their own ideas, but those ideas are risky. 
 
Proverbs 14:12 There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death. 
 
It is only God that I can fully trust!  
 
Ephesians 4:21 If so be that ye have heard Him, and have been taught by Him, as the truth is in Jesus: (the Word)

James 3:16   For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.

James 1:5  If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him
 
I can say to a human, "You might be right." 
 
But when God brings me a word by HIS Spirit I can "know" that word is right. 
 
Seek God. Ask God. 
 
Proverbs 3:6  In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and HE shall direct thy paths. 
 
(When we are trying to hire someone to do something, there could be a "hidden agenda". Therefore ask God what to do.)

15 But if a woman have long hair, it is a glory to her: for her hair is given her for a covering.

16 But if any man seem to be contentious, we have no such custom, neither the churches of God.


17 Now in this that I declare unto you I praise you not, that ye come together not for the better, but for the worse.
18 For first of all, when ye come together in the church, I hear that there be divisions among you; and I partly believe it.
19 For there must be also heresies among you, that they which are approved may be made manifest among you.

(When we have the same Spirit, there should be no divisions.)

20 When ye come together therefore into one place, this is not to eat the Lord's supper.
21 For in eating every one taketh before other his own supper: and one is hungry, and another is drunken.
22 What? have ye not houses to eat and to drink in? or despise ye the church of God, and shame them that have not? what shall I say to you? shall I praise you in this? I praise you not.


23 For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, that the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread:
24 And when He had given thanks, He brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is My body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me.

25 After the same manner also He took the cup, when He had supped, saying, this cup is the new testament in My blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of Me.

26 For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till He come.

27 Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord.

28 But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup.

29 For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord's body.

30 For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep.

31 For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged.
32 But when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world.

(We judge ourselves each time we read the Bible, allowing God to re-create us into HIS image by the Word of God, giving up our fleshly ways that are opposite to that Word of God that we are reading.)

33 Wherefore, my brethren, when ye come together to eat, tarry one for another.

34 And if any man hunger, let him eat at home; that ye come not together unto condemnation. And the rest will I set in order when I come.

πŸ’₯ Podcast: Jesus says, "I am the way, the truth, and the life"

No man can go to God except through Jesus, The Word.

So if we are tempted to go a way opposite to that which we read in the New Testament Bible, we know we cannot go to God that opposite way.

Galatians 5

19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,

20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,

21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea;

And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea;

And did all eat the same spiritual meat;

And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.

19 What say I then? that the idol is any thing, or that which is offered in sacrifice to idols is any thing?

21 Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: ye cannot be partakers of the Lord's table, and of the table of devils.

22 Do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? are we stronger than He?

23 All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not.

24 Let no man seek his own, but every man another's wealth.

25 Whatsoever is sold in the shambles, that eat, asking no question for conscience sake:

26 For the earth is the Lord's, and the fulness thereof.

27 If any of them that believe not bid you to a feast, and ye be disposed to go; whatsoever is set before you, eat, asking no question for conscience sake.

28 But if any man say unto you, this is offered in sacrifice unto idols, eat not for his sake that shewed it, and for conscience sake: for the earth is the Lord's, and the fulness thereof:

29 Conscience, I say, not thine own, but of the other: for why is my liberty judged of another man's conscience?

30 For if I by grace be a partaker, why am I evil spoken of for that for which I give thanks?

31 Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.

32 Give none offence, neither to the Jews, nor to the Gentiles, nor to the church of God:

33 Even as I please all men in all things, not seeking mine own profit, but the profit of many, that they may be saved.
