Proverbs 3:5-7
Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil.

Letter to Sandra:
I need to pray more also.
It might be God's will for me to learn to cook in crock pot ... but I need to continue in prayer ...
Where to buy meat?
Where to buy vegetables?
How to brown meat?
How to successfully mix the flour in water so it won't lump?
God told you to get dog... now must not try to learn to do it yourself through all those books ... nor though TV shows nor through Internet information ... unless you pray and really feel God shows you to do something
If we are going to put our trust in God ... then we should do that instead of trusting in our own mind or the minds of humans unless God has led us to a certain book after prayer.
Lots to learn here ... for both of us.
But we both know how to do it ... Now we must pray in everything, learning to trust in God ... Praying over those future concerns ... Learning not to fret by taking everything to God in prayer, especially fears about what might happen tomorrow.
I know we can do this ...It is just being aware to do it.

Matthew 6:34 Jesus says: Take therefore no thought for the morrow:
When a concern comes about what might happen tomorrow, just STOP and PRAY as soon as you realize you are thinking about tomorrow.
This is the only way we can live in peace today and not go off on some fleshly wild-goose-chase.

After going to bed last night I read the Bible for a while and, after I finished, I fell asleep.
When I awoke around 1:45 am, I remembered that I had not taken the OTC antihistamine which helps me to sleep so I got up and took it.
I briefly got back in bed but still wasn’t sleepy but I was hungry so I went downstairs to get something to eat and to read my secular book.
I woke up about 4 am on the sofa and was getting ready to go back upstairs to bed where I could stretch out and be more comfortable.
But before I could get upstairs I realized that I didn’t feel well physically. I felt kind of sick all over. It also felt like the nerve endings in my skin were “firing” which made my skin feel jittery.
(Not sure how to accurately describe what this felt like...maybe like having way too much caffeine and feeling jittery from that).
As I was lying in bed I realized I wouldn’t be able to go back to sleep feeling like this. I thought maybe if I took another dose of OTC med. maybe that would help me to feel better so I could go back to sleep.
But I knew I didn’t really want to take any more medication.
So I started talking to God and asked Him if He would please help me to be able to go back to sleep.
I laid there quietly for a while and suddenly realized that my body had completely calmed down and I felt normal. I must have fallen asleep soon after this because that’s all I remember until I woke up later that morning and could see the sun trying to shine though the bedroom shades and heard my alarm playing my wake up song. Was so glad I turned to God with this. HE helped me.

The dog breeder who has my puppy had not answered my last email about when, where, and cost of getting the puppy to me.
Overall, it has been harder to get information from her compared to the first breeder I contacted.
I have been praying about this, and asking God to help me to not become upset and asking God for wisdom on how to get the information I need.
Yesterday I found myself fretting about this and prayed again, writing it down, pouring out my heart to God.
Soon after praying I had the thought to send her a fun picture of the things I have gotten so far—crate, bed, stuffed animal, toys, food and water bowls, treats, books on puppies.
So today I sent a picture with the short message, “I’m ready for Dillon”, not asking any questions at all.
She answered immediately with a lot of helpful information…things I didn’t even ask about, such as using a hot water bottle wrapped in a towel for the first few evenings and putting a blanket over the crate, since he is used to sleeping with 13 other puppies.
Since sending that one picture, we have emailed and texted 4 times today and I have all of the important questions answered…and all of this was done in a way that was a lot of fun. Even though I don’t have exact dates or times yet, I have a peace and calmness that it will all work out.
Asking God for wisdom, then sending that one picture made all the difference. James 1:5

A couple days ago I believe I was led by God to deal with my dog barking at what he saw outside the patio door by blocking off the way for him to get to the patio door.
I moved a couple pieces of furniture to block the way and this worked great to keep him away from the doors, which stopped his barking ... until yesterday evening.
Twice yesterday evening he found ways around the furniture I had used to block the way. I found myself adding more things so he couldn't get to the door.
This morning I prayed about what to use to block access to the patio door.
I was reminded of some free-standing fencing I had in the garage.
At first I didn't think this would be sturdy enough. But I kept being reminded if it, so I brought it inside the house.
When it was set up it was much more sturdy than I thought it would be. I don't see any way Gus can get around it and, so far, he hasn't even tried.
And I think this will be much easier to move aside when I need to use the patio door.

Yesterday we went to Home Depot to buy a shower to replace an old one. We prayed we would find one without any dents or scrapes on it. The guy brought one down off top shelf and we looked it over and it was perfect.
When we got it home we prayed it would fit in sliding glass door. (it came in 2 pieces) without Cliff having to take out complete door. We were able to maneuver it around and get it inside without scraping it up.
We were very thankful for the Lord's guidance.

Several months ago, I bought covers for my wing back chairs.
I prayed asking God to help me choose the right covers.
I was buying them on line and wanted to make sure I got covers that fit my chairs and ones that I liked.
When they arrived I followed the instructions on how to put them on the chairs and they looked fine.
The first time I sat in one for a period of time then stood up, I noticed the fabric around the area of the T moved out of place and was really noticeable. Since I liked the color and the difference they made in room appearance, I wanted to keep them and put up with straightening the covers back over the T part when I finished sitting.
Yesterday, while in the kitchen, I noticed a piece of non-skid material I had put over a small unsightly spot in corner of the floor keep it from being noticeable until I fix it. It came to mind that I had a small piece of this non skid material on my chair in my office area and could use that.
(Holy Spirit guides us into all truth. John 16:13)
I put that piece under the slip cover at the T part, fold it under the cushion in front and on the sides. I did that as I watched TV last night. When I stood up, I noticed the chair cover stayed in place better.
I was wondering where I could get more non skid material like this? I used it years ago under throw rugs. The thought come to me to look in a small linen box. At first I hesitated then looked in that box. Near the bottom I found two pieces of this material that were large enough to put on under both slip covers. There was enough to wrap around the T part and to tuck at the side and front of the chair.
I thank God for His caring and helping me. I did not know I already had what I needed but God did.

Juliett’s story reminds me of God’s help to me on a sewing project several years ago.
My husband’s mother sewed a lot when she was younger, but at the time was older and could not anymore. She had some quilts she had made but hadn’t finished the trim around the edges. His sister asked if I would finish them.
I think that I prayed for help with this.
It seemed quite a big undertaking and I don’t have a whole lot of experience in sewing.
I tried to decide what I could use and bought some edging material, but ended up taking it back, as it didn’t really match very well and I didn’t think it would look very good.
His mom had a shed which was stacked with many boxes of sewing and crocheting materials and I looked through some of these, but didn’t find any material I thought I could use.
Then one day some time later when I was over her house, I had the thought to check in this shed again but to dig even deeper than I had before, getting more to the boxes on the bottom.
(Holy Spirit leads us and helps us by bringing thought of truth to our mind. Holy Spirit is The Helper, The Spirit of Truth.)
So I did this and to my surprise I found material that exactly matched the color in one of the quilts.
I suspect it was the same material she had originally used. It looked so much better to use this material than what I bought before. And as I recall there was exactly the right amount needed.

One day last week my neighbor, Jim, called and asked if I would go to his house to help him find a tax form. He had signed it and set it aside and now couldn't find it. He thought maybe it had gone behind his desk, but I looked and didn't find it there.
Jim was very frustrated that the form had seemed to just disappeared and was also very tired after having looked for the form for quite awhile.
I began praying asking God to help us find the form.
After praying I noticed a form on his desk which looked like what Jim had described to me. I pointed out that form to Jim, but he said that was not the one he was looking for.
So we continued looking and I was also praying.
Then I had the thought to suggest that Jim just step back from this for now.
I suggested that to Jim, but he was so intent on finding the form and getting everything mailed that it was like he couldn't grasp stepping away.
I didn't know where else to look for the form, but kept praying.
Then I had the idea to suggest that Jim ask his tax man to send another form. As I was about to suggest this, Jim had the same idea. He called the tax man who said he'd send another form in the mail.
After talking with the tax man Jim was able to step away from this since it would take a few days to receive the form, and I went home.
About two hours later, Jim called me saying he had found the tax form ... and that it was the form I had pointed out to him on his desk.
Evidently after stepping back for a while he recognized that was the very form he was looking for.
(I've had similar things happen to me when I've become tired and frustrated, not recognizing what I'm looking for even when I see it.)
Later I was thinking about all of this and realized that the very things I had heard to do while asking God for help were just what was needed to resolve this ... having the form drawn to my attention, suggesting that Jim step back from looking for the form for a while, and calling the tax man (which freed Jim to step back and rest.)
I'm very grateful to God for HIS help.
