Report: Asking God for Wisdom # 3

Joan Boney ...  apostle/prophet

In 2012, God gave me a dream.  A woman was singing.  I said, "It's a little voice ... but it's a nice little voice."

Then I realize the dream was showing me a blog.

We began a blog immediately, and within 3 days we were publishing exhortations for the church all over the world.

A primary thing I realized in the dream is this would give people an opportunity to testify to the help they had received from God.  They could send these testimonies to us and we would publish the godly testimonies where all the church could benefit.

When you have called on God for help ... and for HIS wisdom ... and HE has helped you, you can share it with us that all may benefit and that the faith in God may be increased.

Galatians 6:10 ... As we have therefore opportunity , let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.

Here is an opportunity for you to do good to the household of faith by sharing that which God did for you or said to you when you prayed for HIS help and HIS wisdom.

James 1:5    If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

Philemon v. 6    That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus.

Hebrews 3:13-14    But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.

For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end;

Pam, I’m so glad you’ve been sharing these ways God has led you, often opposite to what you thought was good. It helps alert me to the importance of praying first, even when something seems so right, and I really want to remember to do that.

Reading Barbara’s account of concern about losing electricity, and God not letting that happen... I thought about how we also recently had some extreme weather, something like hail and snow with very high winds. I hadn’t even thought about losing electricity, but my husband had and asked me to put comforters or sleeping bag by the bed in case. I put a couple sleeping bags there but asked God that we not lose electricity. Our house has electric heat and as far as I know we don’t have any backup to use. As I was sitting in the living room that evening, the lights flickered very briefly but didn’t go out. God did answer that prayer and we didn’t lose electricity all through the night.

Pam’s story of being unsettled and being helped when she was led to go to the blog and begin reading, reminded me of a time when my husband was gone in the morning and I had an almost overwhelming feeling of needing to be with someone. I knew this was my flesh and prayed for help, that I not give in to this and go visiting. I sat down with some emails that I’d printed out from people in our group that spoke of things of God and began rereading. After a while I realized that I was totally ok and that strong desire for people had left.

After the latest ministry book, Preparing Yourself For The Return Of Jesus, was published earlier this week, Joan asked me to order a paperback version of this book for various people she knows.

One of the last orders placed was late Thursday for a woman named, Betty, who is in very poor health, currently housebound and on oxygen.

When Joan has given her writings in the past, Betty has said, "I like everything you write."  (Betty's grandfather was Baptist preacher.)

Then Friday I learned that the part of Amazon that prints our paperback books, CreateSpace, had put this new book in "suppressed" status. This is apparently related to my publishing the books on Joan's behalf, although Joan has provided written authorization for me to do so. I called CreateSpace and the young man I spoke with opened a case to escalate the matter.

In the meantime some orders for the book have been delayed.

This morning I remembered that the order for Betty was placed late Thursday and knew it was likely that her book had been delayed. I began wondering if there was some way to get a book to her without delay. Maybe I could send her the copy I had already received. To do this I would need to go to the post office fairly soon since it closes at noon on Saturdays.

Fortunately before taking any action I prayed, asking God if this is how HE wanted this to be handled.

Shortly after praying about this I had the thought to look at the order online.

What a surprise to see that Betty's book shipped on Friday and it is scheduled to be delivered on Monday!

I was so glad to have been led to see this before going any farther in planning for something that turned out to be completely unnecessary.

I have been using 3 by 5 cards to write scripture or make notes from blog or email.

At first I bought those already bound like a spiral bound index. Then changed to using individual 3 by 5 cards that come in different colors. I believe the idea of how to bind these cards together came from God. I could bind 2 or more to make light weight packets using clear scotch tape at the top corners.

(At office supply you can also buy ring type circle ... punch hole in card and attach as many cards through the ring as you care to do.)

This way the cards were easy to flip to the back as they remained in the pack.

Recently the thought come to me that this was not effective and I was just collecting cards.

(Must determine if that thought was from God ... or was it from devil trying to stop the work.  Juliett did establish where this thought came from.  If the initial thought of the index card was from God, then this second thought would have to be from devil who opposes direction given by God.  Critical that each of us "prove all things and hold fast that which is good."  I Thessalonians 5)

After praying about this, I believe that I should continue to do this. It is handy to take cards with me to read when traveling on bus or waiting at appointments or sitting outside in spring and summer or just sitting inside.

For me it is another way to keep the Word of God in front of me and to keep my mind renewed to Bible.

Response from Linda Rodgers ... Member of body of Christ

After John died, I was going through a lot of his things and I knew that he used index cards for grocery lists and other things. But I was surprised to find literally hundreds of index cards with scripture on them that he had compiled over the years. I have saved all of them along with other information and just put them in a box that is readily accessible for me.

I have also used the index card method and I find it to be convenient when I go to doctor’s office, grocery store and just to read a few scriptures.

I keep them in my purse and they are available to me and cause me to think about Godly things at a moment’s notice.

We had also tried the spiral bound index cards but found it easier to use the individual ones and then we could group the specific ones we wanted together with a paper clip.

It is a plan that really worked for John and I and I hope it works for you.

God’s ways make our life so much easier.

Joshua 1:8    This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

In my current adventure in crock pot cooking, I was considering an old recipe from years ago which was cooked on stove top.  In that, it called for 2 tablespoons flour, but I didn't know how you applied the flour without having it lump when cooking in crock pot.

As I sat thinking of this, I heard (thought from God, I believe), "Mix the flour in some water."

I know God helps us in all things of this present life.

It is like God is standing there looking over our shoulder to help us and protect us and provide that which we need...  as a good father watches over his small child.

This morning I received an email from my internet provider confirming my latest automatic payment.

I noticed they were still charging me a modem rental fee. This was just an error since I had purchased my own modem and returned theirs last month. So I called and asked that they remove the modem rental fee.

The man I first spoke with didn't seem to know what to do, and I could feel myself getting irritated.

That's when I remembered to pray and ask God to help me and to help the person I was speaking with.

Finally this man said he needed to put me on hold so he could talk with technical support. There was a little delay in my thinking before I realized he said "technical support" which wasn't what I needed. But by then he had put the call on hold.

Thoughts of this call dragging on started coming to my mind ... so I continued praying, even more fervently, for God to help me to be calm and to help the people at Comcast.

Before long a man from technical support came on the line. He thought I needed help activating my modem. I calmly explained there were no technical issues at all, that I just needed help getting the modem rental fee removed.

Surprisingly, he said he could help with that.

This man was very helpful and pleasant to talk with. And when he finished, I received a confirmation that the modem rental fee had been removed from my account.

I'm especially glad my flesh was kept under control through God so I didn't speak in an irritated or puffed up way to either of these men, and that I was calmed by God.

I bought a smart phone on Jan 24th, but was so involved in getting a puppy that I wasn’t able to focus on learning how to use it. I prayed for help, but still couldn’t focus on it, so I put it aside. One reason I got it was so that the pet courier could call or text me when her flight arrives in case I can’t find her or in case I go to the wrong spot.

Recently I had the thought that I should install my internet security app on the phone since the pet courier might want payment via PayPal. I was dreading doing this, thinking I would probably have the same type of problems I had when I tried to install it on my Kindle…so I kept praying for help.

This morning when I got up, I had the thought to at least install the security app on my phone. After I did this I was prompted for my Bitdefender password, which I had thankfully written down.

That was it…a simple two-step process…and it worked.

I am so thankful to God for HIS help.
