II Timothy 2 ... Reading through the Bible

1 Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. 2 And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.

3 Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.

4 No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.

5 And if a man also strive for masteries, yet is he not crowned, except he strive lawfully.

6 The husbandman that laboureth must be first partaker of the fruits. 7 Consider what I say; and the Lord give thee understanding in all things.

8 Remember that Jesus Christ of the seed of David was raised from the dead according to my gospel:9 Wherein I suffer trouble, as an evil doer, even unto bonds; but the word of God is not bound. 10 Therefore I endure all things for the elect's sakes, that they may also obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.

11 It is a faithful saying:For if we be dead with him, we shall also live with him:12 If we suffer, we shall also reign with him:if we deny him, he also will deny us:13 If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful:he cannot deny himself.

14 Of these things put them in remembrance, charging them before the Lord that they strive not about words to no profit, but to the subverting of the hearers.

15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

16 But shun profane and vain babblings:for they will increase unto more ungodliness. 17 And their word will eat as doth a canker:of whom is Hymenaeus and Philetus; 18 Who concerning the truth have erred, saying that the resurrection is past already; and overthrow the faith of some.

19 Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his.

And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.

20 But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour. 21 If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work.

22 Flee also youthful lusts:but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.

23 But foolish and unlearned questions avoid, knowing that they do gender strifes. 24 And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, 25 In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth; 26 And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.

Psalm 50 ... Prayers to God & Promises from God to the Church

1 The mighty God, even the Lord, hath spoken, and called the earth
from the rising of the sun unto the going down thereof.
2 Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty,
God hath shined.

3 Our God shall come, and shall not keep silence:
a fire shall devour before him,
and it shall be very tempestuous round about him.

4 He shall call to the heavens from above,
and to the earth, that he may judge his people.

5 Gather my saints together unto me;
those that have made a covenant with me by sacrifice.

6 And the heavens shall declare his righteousness:
for God is judge himself. Selah.

7 Hear, O my people, and I will speak;
O Israel, and I will testify against thee:

I am God, even thy God.
8 I will not reprove thee for thy sacrifices
or thy burnt offerings, to have been continually before me.
9 I will take no bullock out of thy house,
nor he goats out of thy folds.

10 For every beast of the forest is mine,
and the cattle upon a thousand hills.

11 I know all the fowls of the mountains:
and the wild beasts of the field are mine.

12 If I were hungry, I would not tell thee:
for the world is mine, and the fulness thereof.

13 Will I eat the flesh of bulls,
or drink the blood of goats?

14 Offer unto God thanksgiving;
and pay thy vows unto the most High:

15 And call upon me in the day of trouble:
I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.

16 But unto the wicked God saith,
What hast thou to do to declare my statutes,
or that thou shouldest take my covenant in thy mouth?
17 Seeing thou hatest instruction,
and castest my words behind thee.
18 When thou sawest a thief, then thou consentedst with him,
and hast been partaker with adulterers.
19 Thou givest thy mouth to evil,
and thy tongue frameth deceit.
20 Thou sittest and speakest against thy brother;
thou slanderest thine own mother's son.

21 These things hast thou done, and I kept silence;
thou thoughtest that I was altogether such an one as thyself:

but I will reprove thee, and set them in order before thine eyes.

22 Now consider this, ye that forget God,
lest I tear you in pieces, and there be none to deliver.

23 Whoso offereth praise glorifieth me:

and to him that ordereth his conversation aright
will I shew the salvation of God.

Delight yourself in the Word from God.  Give thanks for that Word that God sends.  Let that Word be your joy, your light, your salvation, your strength.  Cling to that Word.  Form yourself around that Word.  Let that Word be your way and your life on this earth.

And you will then go forth in joy and in peace... and you will sit still in joy and in peace.

Works of man

Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

One day I went far to long without food and I realized I was very hungry.  I decided to go to the market near me rather than the discount market which would take more time.  My goal was to eat as quickly as possible.

Before leaving the house I set the oven to preheat so it would be ready immediately upon my return.  I was planning on buying a frozen pizza.

I got an excellent parking place at the market.  I got an electric cart for handicapped and went to the frozen foods.  I got one pizza.  I went to the check out counter.  The girl at the cash register rang up my item and said, "Do you play Monopoly?"  (Some type of game they offer since they charge more than the discount store and customers think they are getting some gift in return for their purchase.)

I replied:  "No ... I just want to pay for the food."

Then she said, "Do you want the coupons?"

I replied:  "No ..I just want to pay for the food."

Then she picked up a telephone receiver and called for take out service.

I said:  "I don't need take out service."

She picked up phone and cancelled take out, taking more time away from my goal which was to get out of the store, get home, cook the food as quickly as possible so I could eat.

I started to leave and a manager said, "I can get you take out.  Just a minute."

I replied:  "I don't need take out."  (I only had one pizza in my grocery cart.)

I drove on toward the door.

Then some worker who does take out appeared in my path and said he would help me.

I replied:  "I don't need take out."  And I drove on toward the door.

Later I though of the many "good" works humans devise and how those works often hold up the person instead of helping the person.

==========

There is a Catholic woman who is full of what she thinks are good works.  Another woman had to go to hospital.  This woman said she really thought this trip to hospital would be her demise.  But it wasn't.  And when she returned home, this Catholic woman called her and asked her what kind of food she wanted her to bring to her.  Charlotte replied she didn't want any food and they didn't need any food.  (She has husband who is able bodied.)  The Catholic woman said, "That won't work."  Then the Catholic woman got the husband on phone and asked him and didn't get a suitable answer.

The Catholic woman told me (with great pride in her accomplishment) that she went to discount store and bought many varieties of food and put these in a big box and took it to Charlotte & Gary.  Gary came to door and Catholic woman said, "Here ..." and handed Gary the box.  He replied:  "Oh my!"  Catholic woman was so proud when she told me of doing this.  What it amounts to is she took food to people who didn't need food and didn't want food.  That is the way of the works humans think to be good when those works are of the flesh of man.

 Proverbs 22:16 He that oppresseth the poor to increase his riches, and he that giveth to the rich, shall surely come to want.

Good works are those authored by the Spirit of God.  But the flesh of man loves to do good of himself.

Later God had me give the following message to this Catholic woman:

"At some point you are going to see that you are going totally wrong way and when you see you will be ashamed."

II Timothy 1 ... Reading through the Bible

1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, according to the promise of life which is in Christ Jesus,  2 To Timothy, my dearly beloved son:Grace, mercy, and peace, from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord.

3 I thank God, whom I serve from my forefathers with pure conscience, that without ceasing I have remembrance of thee in my prayers night and day; 4 Greatly desiring to see thee, being mindful of thy tears, that I may be filled with joy; 5 When I call to remembrance the unfeigned faith that is in thee, which dwelt first in thy grandmother Lois, and thy mother Eunice; and I am persuaded that in thee also.

6 Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands.

7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

8 Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner:but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God;

9 Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began, 10 But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel:

11 Whereunto I am appointed a preacher, and an apostle, and a teacher of the Gentiles.

12 For the which cause I also suffer these things:nevertheless I am not ashamed:for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.

13 Hold fast the form of sound words, which thou hast heard of me, in faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.

14 That good thing which was committed unto thee keep by the Holy Ghost which dwelleth in us.

15 This thou knowest, that all they which are in Asia be turned away from me; of whom are Phygellus and Hermogenes. 16 The Lord give mercy unto the house of Onesiphorus; for he oft refreshed me, and was not ashamed of my chain:17 But, when he was in Rome, he sought me out very diligently, and found me. 18 The Lord grant unto him that he may find mercy of the Lord in that day:and in how many things he ministered unto me at Ephesus, thou knowest very well.

Psalm 49 ... Prayers to God & Promises from God to the Church

1 Hear this, all ye people;
give ear, all ye inhabitants of the world:
2 Both low and high,
rich and poor, together.

3 My mouth shall speak of wisdom;
and the meditation of my heart shall be of understanding.

4 I will incline mine ear to a parable:
I will open my dark saying upon the harp.

5 Wherefore should I fear in the days of evil,
when the iniquity of my heels shall compass me about?

6 They that trust in their wealth,
and boast themselves in the multitude of their riches;
7 None of them can by any means redeem his brother,
nor give to God a ransom for him:
8 (For the redemption of their soul is precious,
and it ceaseth for ever:)
9 That he should still live for ever,
and not see corruption.

10 For he seeth that wise men die,
likewise the fool and the brutish person perish,
and leave their wealth to others.
11 Their inward thought is, that their houses shall continue for ever,
and their dwelling places to all generations;
they call their lands after their own names.

12 Nevertheless man being in honour abideth not:
he is like the beasts that perish.

13 This their way is their folly:
yet their posterity approve their sayings.

14 Like sheep they are laid in the grave;
death shall feed on them;
and the upright shall have dominion over them in the morning;
and their beauty shall consume in the grave from their dwelling.

15 But God will redeem my soul from the power of the grave:
for He shall receive me
. Selah.

16 Be not thou afraid when one is made rich,
when the glory of his house is increased;
17 For when he dieth he shall carry nothing away:
his glory shall not descend after him.
18 Though while he lived he blessed his soul:
and men will praise thee, when thou doest well to thyself.
19 He shall go to the generation of his fathers;
they shall never see light.

20 Man that is in honour, and understandeth not,
is like the beasts that perish.

Comments by Joan Boney

... their way is their folly ...

They trust in men.  They trust in wealth.  They trust in education.  They trust in their physical appearance.  And all these can bring praise of men which vanishes in time along with us.

The only thing worthy of our trust is God and what HE says.  That will abide forever.  Everything else perishes including the flesh of ourselves and others.

... their way is their folly ...

Power of God toward us

Pam Padgett

Ephesians 1:15 Wherefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and love unto all the saints, 16 Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers; 17 That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: 18 The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, 19 And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,

When considering a few of the ways I have seen the exceeding greatness of the power of God toward me in my life, I was filled with thanksgiving and gratitude toward God.  No one other than God could do these things.

-- One of the first things I realized when I was born again was that I was changed, and that this change was by the power of God.  Although I had been raised in the Catholic church and participated in the various rituals as we were taught, this was something totally different.  This was the power of God toward me personally, and I was changed by this power.  Sometime later I saw the following scripture and recognized this is what happened to me, and that this happens to each person who is born again ...

2 Corin. 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

Throughout our lives we find that the power of God continually changes us, conforming us to HIS image as the Holy Spirit works in us.  And by the power of God we are given strength to do the will of God in our lives.

-- God has given us the Holy Spirit living in us.  What an amazing thing!  Teaching us.  Guiding us into truth.  Interceding for us.  Bringing to us what God speaks to us.  Opening our eyes to things of God.  As we read the Bible, drawing our attention to what we need at that point.   Showing us things to come.

-- God hears our prayers.  Many times I have needed help and cried out to God.  Often it seems impossible that I could be helped, but God has always been able to "get through" to me in a way I could understand, showing me what to do and giving me the strength to do it.

An example ... About a year ago I was completely overwhelmed by electrical problems at my house resulting from power outages.  I was so overwhelmed that I had crawled back into bed and never wanted to get out of bed again (the thought of facing these problems was just too much for me).  While laying in bed, I called out to God.

Soon my attention was drawn to the very strong wind blowing outside with the thought: just as God is so powerful that He directs and controls the winds, He is powerful enough to help me with these problems. .  This strengthened me, and I was able to get out of bed.  Then, one thought from the Holy Spirit after another, I was led in what to do to restore power to my house and to get damaged items repaired or replaced.

-- God provides everything we need as we live on this earth ... food, clothing, wisdom, help.

It was frightening when I retired a few years ago because my income was drastically reduced.  But there has been no want.  I have everything I need, even abundantly, as I've turned to God with my fears and just tried to go in the way I've been led by the Holy Spirit.  During this time I have had several very large unexpected expenses, including vet expenses for my older animals.  Recently I marveled to realize that even these expenses have been no problem ... But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. (Phil. 4:19)

No way to go but forward

Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

In HIS wisdom, God fixed it so there was no other way for HIS people to go but forward.

Pharaoh was chasing them.  God parted the Red Sea.  They went into the Red Sea.  There was a wall of water on their right.  There was a wall of water on their left.  Pharaoh was behind them.  They had to go forward.

Sometimes our lives are this way.  The only way to go is forward.  So by faith in God we go forward.

Phil. 3 ... Paul says ... 13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended:but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, 14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

I Timothy 6 ... Reading through the Bible

1 Let as many servants as are under the yoke count their own masters worthy of all honour, that the name of God and his doctrine be not blasphemed. 2 And they that have believing masters, let them not despise them, because they are brethren; but rather do them service, because they are faithful and beloved, partakers of the benefit.

These things teach and exhort.  3 If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness; 4 He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings, 5 Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness:from such withdraw thyself.

6 But godliness with contentment is great gain.

7 For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.

8 And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.

9 But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. 10 For the love of money is the root of all evil:which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

11 But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.

12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.

13 I give thee charge in the sight of God, who quickeneth all things, and before Christ Jesus, who before Pontius Pilate witnessed a good confession; 14 That thou keep this commandment without spot, unrebukeable, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ:15 Which in his times he shall shew, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords; 16 Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see:to whom be honour and power everlasting. Amen.

17 Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy; 18 That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate; 19 Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.

20 O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called:21 Which some professing have erred concerning the faith.

Grace be with thee. Amen.

Psalm 48 ... Prayers to God & Promises from God to the Church

1 Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised

in the city of our God, in the mountain of his holiness.
2 Beautiful for situation, the joy of the whole earth, is mount Zion,
on the sides of the north, the city of the great King.

3 God is known in her palaces for a refuge.

4 For, lo, the kings were assembled, they passed by together.
5 They saw it, and so they marvelled;
they were troubled, and hasted away.
6 Fear took hold upon them there,
and pain, as of a woman in travail.

7 Thou breakest the ships of Tarshish with an east wind.

8 As we have heard, so have we seen
in the city of the Lord of hosts, in the city of our God:
God will establish it for ever. Selah.

9 We have thought of thy lovingkindness, O God,
in the midst of thy temple.

10 According to thy name, O God, so is thy praise unto the ends of the earth:
thy right hand is full of righteousness.

11 Let mount Zion rejoice,
let the daughters of Judah be glad,
because of Thy judgments.

12 Walk about Zion, and go round about her:tell the towers thereof.
13 Mark ye well her bulwarks, consider her palaces;
that ye may tell it to the generation following.

14 For this God is our God for ever and ever:
HE will be our guide even unto death.

Comments by Joan Boney

Even to the end of our life on this earth, God is our guide, showing us step by step what to do in each issue of life, making HIMSELF strong over us.

==========

God is a God of judgment ...

Amos 5:15 Hate the evil, and love the good, and establish judgment in the gate: it may be that the LORD God of hosts will be gracious unto the remnant of Joseph.

We judge with the judgment God puts into our hearts.  We judge by that God gives us by the Spirit of God.  We do not reason things our with our own understand.  When God shows us something we know then.

I Cor. 2 ... 14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God:for they are foolishness unto him:neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. 15 But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man. 16 For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.

We have the mind of Christ through the Spirit of God which God puts in us that we would know truth concerning the issues of this present life.

Jn. 14 ... 26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

Jn. 16 ... 13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth:for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak:and he will shew you things to come.

We pray to God ... HE shows us truth ... HE gives us all we need in the problems of this life ... HE makes darkness light so we can see clearly... Nothing is hidden from God and HE shows us by HIS Spirit so that HE can reign in the hearts of men.

Mt. 10 ... 26 Fear them not therefore:for there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known. 27 What I (Jesus, the Word) tell you in darkness, that speak ye in light:and what ye hear in the ear, that preach ye upon the housetops.  (Jesus speaks to us today by HIS Spirit, by the Holy Spirit who dwells in each of us who belong to God)

Heb. 4 ... 12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. 13 Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight:but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of Him with whom we have to do.

And HE (God) tells us (His Servants).

Once I was speaking at a small church in Texas.  After the speaking, a prayer line was formed.  I walked up to one woman and I said to her, "And what is it you want God to do for you."  She replied, "I's just wants more of God."  I said to her, "God will tell me the truth about you."  She screamed out in front of everyone, "OH ... NO, Lord ... Don't tell her."  This brought the house down with laughter from the congregation.

Do you think God doesn't know the truth about what you are doing in the dark?  Nonsense.

You may fool yourself.  Devils may fool you about yourself.  But God knows what is really truth.  And HE tells us, that truth may be established in the congregation.

I Timothy 5 ... Reading through the Bible

1 Rebuke not an elder, but intreat him as a father; and the younger men as brethren; 2 The elder women as mothers; the younger as sisters, with all purity.

3 Honour widows that are widows indeed. 4 But if any widow have children or nephews, let them learn first to shew piety at home, and to requite their parents:for that is good and acceptable before God.

5 Now she that is a widow indeed, and desolate, trusteth in God, and continueth in supplications and prayers night and day. 6 But she that liveth in pleasure is dead while she liveth. 7 And these things give in charge, that they may be blameless.

8 But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.

9 Let not a widow be taken into the number under threescore years old, having been the wife of one man, 10 Well reported of for good works; if she have brought up children, if she have lodged strangers, if she have washed the saints 'feet, if she have relieved the afflicted, if she have diligently followed every good work.

11 But the younger widows refuse:for when they have begun to wax wanton against Christ, they will marry; 12 Having damnation, because they have cast off their first faith.

13 And withal they learn to be idle, wandering about from house to house; and not only idle, but tattlers also and busybodies, speaking things which they ought not. 14 I will therefore that the younger women marry, bear children, guide the house, give none occasion to the adversary to speak reproachfully. 15 For some are already turned aside after Satan.

16 If any man or woman that believeth have widows, let them relieve them, and let not the church be charged; that it may relieve them that are widows indeed.

17 Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honour, especially they who labour in the word and doctrine. 18 For the scripture saith, Thou shalt not muzzle the ox that treadeth out the corn. And, The labourer is worthy of his reward.

19 Against an elder receive not an accusation, but before two or three witnesses. 20 Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear.

21 I charge thee before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, and the elect angels, that thou observe these things without preferring one before another, doing nothing by partiality.

22 Lay hands suddenly on no man, neither be partaker of other men's sins:keep thyself pure.

23 Drink no longer water, but use a little wine for thy stomach's sake and thine often infirmities.

24 Some men's sins are open beforehand, going before to judgment; and some men they follow after. 25 Likewise also the good works of some are manifest beforehand; and they that are otherwise cannot be hid.

Psalm 47 ... Prayers to God & Promises from God to the Church

1 O clap your hands, all ye people;
shout unto God with the voice of triumph.

2 For the Lord most high is terrible;
he is a great King over all the earth.
3 He shall subdue the people under us,
and the nations under our feet.

4 He shall choose our inheritance for us,
the excellency of Jacob whom He loved. Selah.

5 God is gone up with a shout,
the Lord with the sound of a trumpet.

6 Sing praises to God, sing praises:
sing praises unto our King, sing praises.
7 For God is the King of all the earth:
sing ye praises with understanding.

8 God reigneth over the heathen:
God sitteth upon the throne of his holiness.

9 The princes of the people are gathered together,
even the people of the God of Abraham:

for the shields of the earth belong unto God:
HE is greatly exalted.

Comments by Joan Boney

HE is greatly exalted.

Romans 9 ... 17 For the scripture saith unto Pharaoh, Even for this same purpose have I raised thee up, that I might shew my power in thee, and that my name might be declared throughout all the earth. 18 Therefore hath he mercy on whom he will have mercy, and whom he will he hardeneth.

Ex. 3 ... (God says)  20 And I will stretch out my hand, and smite Egypt with all my wonders which I will do in the midst thereof:

The circumstance was there to give honor to God and by that circumstance God would show HIMSELF and be exalted.

My cousin is in poor health and her husband died a couple of weeks ago.  She has always been a complainer, seeming to want to tell her troubles but not necessarily seeking the solution.

I wrote a note to her today telling her the following:  When I had accident 4 years ago and spent a month in rehab hospital, I was so happy to be in hospital for I knew they could take care of me there.  Most people there wanted to go home.  I did not want to go home because I knew I was where I could get help and that is what mattered.  After getting out of hospital I have been so grateful that we live in a country where we can get help.

I have not called my cousin since her husband died for I know she will pour out all her troubles on me.  I have written her little notes from time to time.  In one note, I told her in her grief to call out to God.  HE would help her.  (I didn't hear anything from her.  I didn't expect to hear from her.  But I gave her good words which have power to help her if she will do them.  That is what is important.)

What I am saying in my notes is the power of God and exalts God.  I know if I called my cousin she would exalt herself in her sorrow.  Therefore I am keeping control over the situation by not calling her and by sending her notes telling of God.

 3 He shall subdue the people under us,
and the nations under our feet.

I Timothy 4 ... Reading through the Bible

1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;

2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy;

having their conscience seared with a hot iron;

3 Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth. 4 For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving:5 For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.

6 If thou put the brethren in remembrance of these things, thou shalt be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished up in the words of faith and of good doctrine, whereunto thou hast attained.

7 But refuse profane and old wives 'fables, and exercise thyself rather unto godliness.

8 For bodily exercise profiteth little:but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.

9 This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptation. 10 For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe. 11 These things command and teach.

12 Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.

13 Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine

14 Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery.

15 Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all.

16 Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them:for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.

Psalm 46 ... Prayers to God & Promises from God to the Church

1 God is our refuge and strength,
a very present help in trouble.

2 Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed,
and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;
3 Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled,
though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah.

4 There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God,
the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High.

5 God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved:
God shall help her, and that right early.

6 The heathen raged, the kingdoms were moved:
He uttered his voice, the earth melted.

7 The Lord of hosts is with us;
the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.

8 Come, behold the works of the Lord,
what desolations HE hath made in the earth.

9 He maketh wars to cease unto the end of the earth;
he breaketh the bow, and cutteth the spear in sunder;
he burneth the chariot in the fire.

10 Be still, and know that I am God:
I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.

11 The Lord of hosts is with us;
the God of Jacob is our refuge.

 1 God is our refuge and strength,
a very present help in trouble.

We who belong to God run quickly to God in times of trouble.  We call on God as little children call on a father.  We don't know what to do.  And even after God shows us what to do, we must have God's strength to do what we are shown.  Usually God's strength is contained in that WORD given us by the Spirit of God as we deal with the issue.  Because of that Word we have strength to do what we see to do.  Without that Word we would likely back down and fall backward.  We go forward and are strengthened because of that which God has shown us by HIS Spirit.

10 Be still, and know that I am God:
I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.

Recently I was dealing with a very serious trouble with another church person.  I had to be very still as the information accumulated inside me concerning the problem.  Facts concerning the matter came by the Spirit of God.  It was sort of like the filling of a vessel with water.  Then after a day or so it was all there and came out from me.  But it took a waiting on God even though I had many pieces of truth in the matter.

What God told me by HIS Spirit came forth and God was exalted.

When God is exalted the flesh of man is often put down.

Thus Paul says:  10 For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.  Gal. 1

God gives us wisdom

Pam Padgettteacher

Proverbs 8:1 Doth not wisdom cry?  and understanding put forth her voice?  2 She standeth in the top of high places, by the way in the places of the paths.  3 She crieth at the gates, at the entry of the city, at the coming in at the doors. 4 Unto you, O men, I call; and my voice is to the sons of man.

God freely gives us HIS wisdom.  Wherever we are, and whatever we're dealing with, God is able to give us HIS wisdom in the matter.

We must not go in the way of the wisdom of this world, or what may seem wise in our own eyes.  Instead, it is the will of God that we turn to HIM, asking and believing that HE will provide the wisdom we need.

James 1:5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. 6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. ...

And the wisdom God gives to us is sure and perfect, exactly what we need at that point.
