Watch and pray

The apostle Paul warned us:

II Timothy 3:13    But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.

We continually watch ourselves, our reactions, our responses and when we see ourselves affected in a way that would harm us, we pray for God to help us, staying continually connected to God through prayer.

For the sin and the way of evil of others can destroy us unless we are separated by God and go in the way of God.

To know the way of God, we must depend on God to show us what to do and then we do that.

We cannot make the evil into good.  Paul tells us it will get worse and worse.

So how do we keep ourselves?  We follow God when we have the Spirit of God.

Abraham heard from God and simply obeyed.  Abraham did not ask Sarah what she thought about it.  Abraham did what God said to do and Sarah followed, as did Abraham's nephew.

We do that which we believe God has shown us to do.  And we continue in that word given us by God.

Luke 21:36   Watch ye therefore, and pray always, (pray over all the circumstances of this life which come across our paths ...)

that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

The world sometimes senses something is not right and they try to "flee" but their actions are by their own way of thinking.  John the Baptist showed us this.

Luke 3:7-9   Then said he to the multitude that came forth to be baptized of him, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come?

Bring forth therefore fruits worthy of repentance, and begin not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, That God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham.

And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: every tree therefore which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.

It is only by hearing from God that we can know the "right" thing to  do in any situation of this present time.

Therefore "watch and pray".

John 6:63  Jesus says:  It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.
