Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet
The apostle Paul says Satan himself transforms himself into "an angel of light". II Cor. 11:14
The idea can seem good and right ... but is it really ... Satan will destroy those who will allow him to do so. Often Satan offers fame, greatness, praise of men if only we will go a certain way.
We certainly recognize this as the temptation the devil brought to Jesus:
Mt. 4 ... 8 Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; 9 And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me. 10 Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan:for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.
If a spirit is driving you to "lay down your life" ... be sure that spirit is from God.
A great many are urged to go into all the world and preach the gospel and they often come to me begging me to pay for their trip. But I know it is another spirit leading these men. When God calls us to do a work, the way to do that work is laid out before us. We do not have to become beggars to pay for the works of God.
And in your lives, when a lofty goal comes before you, check that spirit that brought that goal. Is it really of God.
James 3:17 ... 17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy. 18 And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.
