πŸ’₯ Sharing daily with the church

Psalm 84:11  The Lord God is a sun and shield;
The Lord will give grace and glory;
No good thing will HE withhold
From them who we walk uprightly.

Psalm 23:1 The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. 2 HE maketh me to lie down in green pastures: HE leadeth me beside the still waters. 3 HE restoreth my soul: HE leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for HIS name's sake. 4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for THOU art with me; THY rod and THY staff they comfort me. 5 THOU preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: THOU anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. 6. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

My husband and I have disagreed for years about making hotel reservations while traveling. He prefers not to make reservations. As a result we have spent some cold nights sleeping in the car. This has caused me to be afraid and loose trust in my husband.

I have been meditating on Ephesians 4:29 for a couple of months.

Ephesians 4:29  Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.

A week ago, my husband wanted to go on an overnight trip. I asked if he made reservations. He said,
" No".  I said nothing and walked away.

Later my husband said that because I said nothing, he called and made a reservation.

He also shared this reservation story at our local church group.

This morning I found myself thanking God for saving me, causing me to be born again when a boy in my class was killed on a motorcycle, by bringing the Word to me "If you died today you would go to hell. God is your only hope."   I believed this word and asked God to please save me. Not long after that I realized that "something of God" was in me.

A few years later, I saw in 1 Corinthians that the Holy Spirit was in me.

I Corinthians 3:16  Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?

I Corinthians 6: 19-20  What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.

And this morning I also thanked God for various times and ways HE has led and helped me through the years, bringing HIS word to me by the Holy Spirit.

While thanking God for these things, the following was given to me:

Hebrews 13:8  Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

Just as I have been kept and helped and led by Jesus, the Word, ever since being born again, this will be the same throughout my life. The Word given to me by the Holy Spirit will never fail. It is sure and perfect.

This is a strong anchor to me.

Hebrews 6:17  Wherein God, willing more abundantly to shew unto the heirs of promise the immutability of HIS counsel, confirmed it by an oath:

18 That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us:

19 Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil;

20 Whither the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made an high priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.

When I have to go to the doctor, before I go, I ask God to give the doctor I am seeing HIS (GOD’s) wisdom in treating me.

Earlier today I needed to talk to my dog’s veterinarian about a concern I had about my dog. But before I called, I prayed that God would give him wisdom in the response he gave.

Acknowledging God in the things we do becomes second nature to us, wanting HIS wisdom in everything we do.

Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Hebrews 11:6   But without faith it is impossible to please HIM: for he that cometh to God must believe that HE is, and that HE is a rewarder of them that diligently seek HIM.

A few years ago I met a woman in the beauty shop and we seemed to find some things in common. As I got to know her more, she said she was a Christian but didn’t go to church any more because of something the pastor said to her friend, which she didn’t agree with. I never asked her what that involved. Then I realized as time went on that she had many problems and no answers. I encouraged her to seek God on these issues.  However when I would speak to her later, she was still in the same predicament with no answers. I realized then that I needed to sever this relationship as it was affecting me in a negative way. I believe that God showed me to continue in this relationship would be detrimental to me. I felt so much better when I obeyed God and released myself from this situation. God is in charge! It reminded me of Joan and her cousin Jeannie concerning her loneliness at night since her husband had died and not taking any advice from Joan on how to seek God’s help. It’s so great to know God is there for us always and helps us and wants the best for us.

When my husband and I were looking for a new stove, he really wanted a certain kind of stove top, which I have never had and felt I would be very uncomfortable using. I explained to him why I didn’t want this kind, but he still held to us getting it. I knew I shouldn’t strive with him and just thought I would have to accept whatever he wanted.

But after awhile I was reminded that I hadn’t prayed about it. So I asked God, that if it was alright for us to get the kind of stovetop I wanted, would HE please change Joe’s mind and let him be okay with us getting it.

Later we were sitting by the stoves, waiting for the clerk to come back with some information about one or more of them, and Joe said something like, "You know, since we won’t be living at our house long (so he thought), I guess it would be okay to get the kind of stovetop you want."

I was thrilled. We did get the one I wanted and he seemed to like it. We have lived in the same house and have had that stove now for close to 10 years and it’s worked well.

Once in a while you hear people say "Those were the good old days"

Philippians 3:13-14   Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those thing which are before, 14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

Every day is a good day in Christ Jesus.

CHURCH GATHERING
IN COLORADO SPRINGS:
July 22-26, 2024

We would love to have you join us!

We are going to try to conduct these meetings as Paul said to do when we gather as the church:

I Corinthians 14:26  How is it then, brethren? when ye come together, every one of you hath a psalm (prayer), hath a doctrine, hath a tongue, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation. Let all things be done unto edifying.

We will depend on God to draw ( out of each of us edifying things to help the church see God.  We will depend on God to give each individual what he or she needs.  We believe God will increase our faith in HIM by the words brought forth by individuals who attend.  No messages will be pre-planned.  We will trust God to bring forth what HE wants us to hear through one another as the Holy Spirit, Who is in us, reminds individuals of scripture or stories of that which God has done in their lives and they share those things with the group.  This is what the gathering of the church was supposed to be!

I Corinthians 14:31   For ye may all prophesy (share) one by one, that all may learn, and all may be comforted.

This should be very exciting!  (And it should end up being led by God and therefore what God wants us to hear!)

And in the Bible, Jesus says to us:

Matthew 18:20  For where two or three are gathered together in MY name, there am I in the midst of them.

(Physical and emotional healings should take place with Jesus there in the midst of us!  We should also be greatly strengthened for the end-time events that are to come upon this present earth.)

Some might be born again and changed for ever.

And each of us should be strengthened in God.

And it will be fun to just be together..and it is very beautiful here...and cool! (1 moved here from Texas. I've been here 5 years so I really appreciate the climate and especially the Rocky Mountains!)

We will pick you up in Denver if you fly.
Milage: 71 miles, (approximately 50 miles to north side where we live)

Or you can fly to Colorado Springs.

By next week we hope to name convention hotel and announce some reduced rates for our group.

(We will take an early head count in mid February...watch for it in blog!)

πŸ’₯ I Timothy 5:22

Lay hands suddenly on no man, neither be partaker of other men's sins: keep thyself pure.

πŸ’₯πŸ’₯πŸ’₯

πŸ’₯  Lay hands suddenly on no man,

Don't be too quick to approve the other person.  Many talk Bible but let them prove they follow the Holy Spirit and live the Word of God before you "lay hands" on that person, approving that person to others.

πŸ’₯  neither be partaker of other men's sins:

I find I am too quick in approving what they tell me and I often say, "That's wonderful."  because I want them to be right and on the good side of God.

The motive behind their action needs to be proven.  Sometimes what they do seems right to me only to be wrong in time.  Let it be proven before we join a sin by approving and then finding it to be wrong.

πŸ’₯  keep thyself pure.

We must not join the unrighteous in their ways by approving them.

It doesn't make them righteous just because we want them to be righteous.

Because we see ourselves and know we deal in a righteous way doesn't mean they deal in a righteous way.

I Thessalonians 5:21  Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.

Podcast: Scriptures and Exhortations shared by the body of Christ

Matthew 14:22  And straightway Jesus constrained His disciples to get into a ship, and to go before Him unto the other side, while He sent the multitudes away.

23 And when He had sent the multitudes away, He went up into a mountain apart to pray: and when the evening was come, He was there alone.

24 But the ship was now in the midst of the sea, tossed with waves: for the wind was contrary.

25 And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea.

26 And when the disciples saw Him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit; and they cried out for fear.

27 But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid.

28 And Peter answered Him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto Thee on the water.

29 And He said, Come.
And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus.

30 But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me.

31 And immediately Jesus stretched forth His hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?

Psalm 23:1  The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

Shepherd:  One who takes care of the sheep
A provider of food, water, safety and moves the sheep from one place to another

Hebrews 13:5  ... for HE hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

Matthew 18:3 And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.

4 Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

I John 4:1  Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:

And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

I Corinthians 14:33  For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.

II Corinthians 10:5  Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

Matthew 2:12  And being warned of God in a dream that they should not return to Herod, they departed into their own country another way.

13 And when they were departed, behold, the angel of the Lord appeareth to Joseph in a dream, saying, Arise, and take the young child and his mother, and flee into Egypt, and be thou there until I bring thee word: for Herod will seek the young child to destroy him.

14 When he arose, he took the young child and his mother by night, and departed into Egypt:

15 And was there until the death of Herod: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Out of Egypt have I called my son.

Matthew 2:19  But when Herod was dead, behold, an angel of the Lord appeareth in a dream to Joseph in Egypt,
20 Saying, Arise, and take the young child and His mother, and go into the land of Israel: for they are dead which sought the young child's life.

2 Timothy 1:7  For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

James 3:14  But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth.

15 This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish.

16 For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.

Proverbs 3:6   In all thy ways acknowledge HIM, and HE shall direct thy paths.

Matthew 5:10  Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Hebrews 3:13  But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.

Hebrews 10:25  Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,

27 But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.

Exhort:  urge earnestly by advice and warning

Psalm 107:1  O give thanks unto the Lord, for He is good: for His mercy endureth for ever.

 Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom He hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy;

And gathered them out of the lands, from the east, and from the west, from the north, and from the south.

They wandered in the wilderness in a solitary way; they found no city to dwell in.

Hungry and thirsty, their soul fainted in them.

Then they cried unto the Lord in their trouble, and He delivered them out of their distresses.

And He led them forth by the right way, that they might go to a city of habitation.

Oh that men would praise the Lord for His goodness, and for His wonderful works to the children of men!

For He satisfieth the longing soul, and filleth the hungry soul with goodness.

 10 Such as sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, being bound in affliction and iron;

11 Because they rebelled against the words of God, and contemned the counsel of the most High:

12 Therefore He brought down their heart with labour; they fell down, and there was none to help.

13 Then they cried unto the Lord in their trouble, and He saved them out of their distresses.

14 He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and brake their bands in sunder.

15 Oh that men would praise the Lord for His goodness, and for His wonderful works to the children of men!

16 For He hath broken the gates of brass, and cut the bars of iron in sunder.

17 Fools because of their transgression, and because of their iniquities, are afflicted.

18 Their soul abhorreth all manner of meat; and they draw near unto the gates of death.

19 Then they cry unto the Lord in their trouble, and He saveth them out of their distresses.

20 He sent His word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.

21 Oh that men would praise the Lord for His goodness, and for His wonderful works to the children of men!

22 And let them sacrifice the sacrifices of thanksgiving, and declare His works with rejoicing.

 23 They that go down to the sea in ships, that do business in great waters;

24 These see the works of the Lord, and His wonders in the deep.

25 For He commandeth, and raiseth the stormy wind, which lifteth up the waves thereof.

26 They mount up to the heaven, they go down again to the depths: their soul is melted because of trouble.

27 They reel to and fro, and stagger like a drunken man, and are at their wit's end.

28 Then they cry unto the Lord in their trouble, and He bringeth them out of their distresses.

29 He maketh the storm a calm, so that the waves thereof are still.

30 Then are they glad because they be quiet; so He bringeth them unto their desired haven.

31 Oh that men would praise the Lord for His goodness, and for His wonderful works to the children of men!

32 Let them exalt Him also in the congregation of the people, and praise Him in the assembly of the elders.

33 He turneth rivers into a wilderness, and the watersprings into dry ground;

34 A fruitful land into barrenness, for the wickedness of them that dwell therein.

35 He turneth the wilderness into a standing water, and dry ground into watersprings.

 36 And there He maketh the hungry to dwell, that they may prepare a city for habitation;

37 And sow the fields, and plant vineyards, which may yield fruits of increase.

38 He blesseth them also, so that they are multiplied greatly; and suffereth not their cattle to decrease.

39 Again, they are minished and brought low through oppression, affliction, and sorrow.

40 He poureth contempt upon princes, and causeth them to wander in the wilderness, where there is no way.

41 Yet setteth He the poor on high from affliction, and maketh him families like a flock.

42 The righteous shall see it, and rejoice: and all iniquity shall stop her mouth.

43 Whoso is wise, and will observe these things, even they shall understand the lovingkindness of the Lord.

Deuteronomy 28:6  Blessed shalt thou be when thou comest in, and blessed shalt thou be when thou goest out.

Hymn: Up from the grave HE arose

We are temporarily having difficulty playing hymns on blog.

To hear music for this hymn:  Up from the grave HE arose

1.   Low in the grave He lay —
Jesus my Savior!
Waiting the coming day —

Jesus my Lord!

Chorus:

Up from the grave He arose,
With a mighty triumph o’er His foes.
He arose a Victor from the dark domain,

And He lives forever in His saints to reign.
He arose! He arose!
Hallelujah! Christ arose!

2.   Vainly they watch His tomb
Jesus, my Savior!
Vainly they seal the dead—

Jesus my Lord!

3.  Death cannot keep his prey—
Jesus, my Savior!
He tore the bars away—

Jesus my Lord!

*****

Scriptures pertaining to this hymn:

Matthew 27:59  And when Joseph had taken the body (of Jesus), he wrapped it in a clean linen cloth,

Matthew 27:62-66   Now the next day, that followed the day of the preparation, the chief priests and Pharisees came together unto Pilate, Saying, Sir, we remember that that deceiver said, while He was yet alive, After three days I will rise again.  Command therefore that the sepulchre be made sure until the third day, lest His disciples come by night, and steal Him away, and say unto the people, He is risen from the dead: so the last error shall be worse than the first.

Pilate said unto them, Ye have a watch: go your way, make it as sure as ye can.

So they went, and made the sepulchre sure, sealing the stone, and setting a watch.

***

Matthew 28:1-4  In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre.

(These women also prepared and brought to the tomb fine smelling spices, for when the body decays there is a stink and they wanted to cover up that odor.  They didn't know there would be no decaying body where Jesus was concerned for God would not "suffer" Jesus' body to see corruption as other flesh saw corruption.  Jesus' body and soul were removed by God from the tomb.)

And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it.

His (the angel's) countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow:

And for fear of him the keepers did shake, and became as dead men.

***

Luke 24:1-7  Now upon the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they came unto the sepulchre, bringing the spices which they had prepared, and certain others with them.
And they found the stone rolled away from the sepulchre.

And they entered in, and found not the body of the Lord Jesus.

And it came to pass, as they were much perplexed thereabout, behold, two men stood by them in shining garments: And as they were afraid, and bowed down their faces to the earth, they said unto them,

Why seek ye the living among the dead?
He is not here, but is risen:

remember how HE spake unto you when HE was yet in Galilee, Saying, The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.

***

Acts 13:35-37   Wherefore he (David) saith also in another psalm, Thou shalt not suffer Thine Holy One to see corruption.
For David, after he had served his own generation by the will of God, fell on sleep, and was laid unto his fathers, and saw corruption:
But HE, whom God raised again, saw no corruption.

When they entered the tomb of Jesus, His body was gone as well as His Spirit.  God did not allow Jesus' body to decay the way of normal flesh.

πŸ’₯ Sharing things of God and scriptures with the body of Christ.

(Listed in alphabetical order:)

πŸ’₯  Joan Boney

Two scriptures have led me for many years and I have been diligent to do these 2 scriptures.

These instruction in the Holy Bible are not just for ministers but are instructions for the whole church to do.

Hebrews 3

12 Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.

13 But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.

14 For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end;

exhort: urge earnestly by advice and warnings

Hebrews 10

22 Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.

23 Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for HE is faithful that promised;)

24 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:

25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day (of the LORD) approaching.

26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,

27 But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.

Yesterday two movers came to box up a very heavy broken amplifier and replace it with a working amplifier, and also to move some other heavy things for us.

When scheduling them to come, I was told they would arrive between 3-5 p.m. Then a short time later I received a call from the moving company asking if I'd be willing to have the movers arrive between 1-3, and I agreed to this.

After agreeing to this change, however, thoughts came that I shouldn't have agreed to this earlier time because there wouldn't be time for me to prepare for the movers. I asked God if I should make other arrangements, but was not led to do so.

(Where did that first thought come from?  Try the spirits that bring thoughts to your mind to see if those thoughts are from God.)

As I committed to God how to prepare for the movers, and was led in how to do these preparations, I was ready for them before 11:30 a.m.  Having them come at the earlier time was no problem at all. In fact, it turned out to be better for us that they came earlier ...

After the movers put the working amplifier in place, I started to install the various cables and was shocked to find that the end of one cable was broken. There was no way to connect it to the amplifier! The amplifier could not be used until this was repaired.

The movers finished all the jobs we had for them to do by 2:30. There was plenty of time to take the cable with the broken end to a sound place where this could be repaired right away. By 5:30 the cable was repaired and connected to the amplifier, working just fine.

This morning I was thanking God for being able to get the broken cable taken care of yesterday since the movers came at the earlier time, and was reminded of what we're told in Romans 8:28 ...

Romans 8:28  And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to HIS purpose.

Yesterday, when it was about time for me to start dinner, I could feel my flesh starting to rise up in annoyance and resentment at having to get up and start doing this. As I sat there, I just stayed quiet because I knew if I said anything to Edward, my husband, at that moment, it would only be to snap at him.

I knew I needed to turn to God immediately and ask Him to please help bring me under control.

So I sat there and silently prayed for God to help me.

Right after I did this, I stopped thinking about fixing dinner. I can’t even tell you what I was thinking about after praying, but I do remember just sitting quietly on the sofa for a while and later getting up and going to the kitchen and starting dinner.

I finished with dinner, we ate, and watched a tv program, as we ate. I was calm and enjoyed this time.

It was later that night when I remembered that I had been feeling irritable earlier. But, after asking God to help me, the irritability had simply vanished and I was able to prepare dinner, eat, and enjoy this time because God had answered my prayer.

How blessed we are to belong to God, to have His Holy Spirit living within us, and to have access to perfect help and perfect wisdom, at all times!

Job 5:17  Behold, happy is the man whom God correcteth; therefore despise not thou the chastening of the Almighty.

So many times in my life’s journey, I thought I knew what was best for myself and somehow God always got my attention and made me aware that I had NOT prayed about the matter at hand.

After I prayed sometimes the answer that I previously considered was incorrect and He led me another way or He confirmed to me that what I was thinking was correct.

HOWEVER, I was always reminded to consult God and it became a way of life for me. And that revelation from God has helped me through the rest of my days.

There is an intersection a little ways from our house that is a 4-way stop. The speed limit on both roads is 55. There are usually not many, if any, other cars there. If I don’t see any other cars stopped or coming, I usually slow way down, take a look to make sure no one else is there, and then just proceed through.

One day I came up to this intersection and although there were no cars there and I couldn’t see any approaching, instead of going through right away I stopped and hesitated for just a few seconds. From my right a truck came barreling through, not stopping, not even slowing down.

I was amazed and so thankful that God had spared me from what could’ve been a horrible accident.

After I went to bed last night, I was reminded of several scriptures and wrote portions so that I could find them in the Bible when I got up. The following is one of those scriptures.

Nehemiah 8:10  Then HE said to them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared; for this day is holy unto our Lord: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the Lord is your strength.

The joy of The Word given to us by His Spirit is our strength. When we do That Word, It brings about God's purpose in the situation.

CHURCH GATHERING
IN COLORADO SPRINGS:
July 22-26, 2024

We are going to try to conduct these meetings as Paul said to do when we gather as the church:

I Corinthians 14:26  How is it then, brethren? when ye come together, every one of you hath a psalm (prayer), hath a doctrine, hath a tongue, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation. Let all things be done unto edifying.

I Corinthians 14:31   For ye may all prophesy (share) one by one, that all may learn, and all may be comforted.

And in the Bible, Jesus says to us:

Matthew 18:20  For where two or three are gathered together in MY name, there am I in the midst of them.

πŸ’₯ When we are baptized we die in Christ and when we come out of the water it is like we are raised in Christ..

Comments by Joan Boney:

I was baptized in water when I was 15 years old, at my aunt's church, Church of Christ,  because I didn't want to go to hell and that was what I understood from the preaching, that I needed to do.  But it was not the Holy Spirit of God leading me to do this.  I was not convicted of my sin.  So I was not born again at that time neither was there any change in my life.  It was all of man and not by God.  (Though I thought this made me a Christian and I told people I was a Christian when they asked me.)

πŸ’₯πŸ’₯πŸ’₯

Then on August 5, 1975, God spoke these words to me by HIS Spirit.

"Joan ... You know all those mistakes you've been making all these years. Those weren't mistakes.  Those were sins."

"Sins?" I replied!  I thought they were mistakes.

Instantly I was born again, completely changed by God.

2 Corinthians 5:17  Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

Now I was completely changed!  I wanted to read Bible.  I wanted to be with other Christians.  I no longer wanted to be with the people I had been with before.  I was a new creature!

πŸ’₯πŸ’₯πŸ’₯

I owned a small business in Dallas, Texas, in American Indian Arts, and was on a buying trip to New Mexico.

As the plane landed in Albuquerque, I heard these words from God:  "Be baptized."

(When I hear something, I take that word as, "NOW".)

My cousin, Jeanne, was meeting me at the plane, to take me out where I bought jewelry for my shop.

I said to Jeanne, "If you can arrange it, I will be baptized this afternoon, before I return to Dallas."

She was shocked and replied:  "You've already been baptized."

I replied:  "Yes ... but I was not born again at that time.  Now I am born again and on the plane the Spirit of God said to me 'Be Baptized', so I will if you can arrange it!"

As we drove along in her car, I spoke continually of God and what HE had done in my life.

Jeanne said:  "Well ... I believe you are a Christian.  I just don't know HOW you can be."

(I just laughed.   I don't think Jeanne understood being born again.)

πŸ’₯πŸ’₯πŸ’₯

After I finished buying merchandise for my shop, we drove directly to the Church of Christ building where Jeanne attended church.

I was shocked to see approximately 15 of my relatives.

The preacher said to me, "Would you like to say anything before you are baptized?"

(This really surprised me for Church of Christ does not allow woman to speak in the church.)

I replied:  "Well ... I guess so."

And I began speaking:  telling them how I was baptized when I was 15 but was not born again by the Holy Spirit of God.

God spoke to me August 5, 1975, and said to me, "Joan ... you know those 'mistakes' you've been making all these years?  Those weren't mistakes.  Those were sins."  With that, I was born again.

I'm sure I spoke other things God had shown me.

I noticed one of my cousins was smiling and shaking her head up and down.

I noticed my uncle was crying.

When the minister lowered me into the water, the Holy Spirit said to me:  "This is like being buried with Christ."

When I came up out of the water, the Holy Spirit said:  "This is like being raised with Christ."

I dressed and went back down to the auditorium where my relatives were gathered.

My uncle came to me, still having tears in his eyes, and said:  "I've never heard anything like you spoke today!  Could you write that out when you get back to Dallas and send it to me?"

I replied:  "I guess so."

(I did send those words to my uncle in writing.  Years later, God showed me that as I spoke, my uncle was born again.)

Jesus says:

Mark 16

16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In MY name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;

18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

19 So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, HE was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.

20 And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following.  Amen.

Years later, I realized this is what had happened that day I spoke at Church of Christ, and was baptize, and my uncle was born again ... It was Jesus working with me and confirming the word with signs following ... my uncle born again as I spoke that day at Church of Christ.

Romans 6

3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into HIS death?

4 Therefore we are buried with HIM by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

5 For if we have been planted together in the likeness of HIS death, we shall be also in the likeness of HIS resurrection:

6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with HIM, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.

7 For he that is dead is freed from sin.

8 Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with HIM:

9 Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him.

10 For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God.

11 Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.

12 Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.

13 Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.

14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.

15 What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.

16 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?

17 But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.

18 Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.

19 I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness.

20 For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness.

21 What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now ashamed? for the end of those things is death.

22 But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.

23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
