We Are Well Able To Overcome

Caleb said ... Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome ... Num. 13:30

Look what God has given us to use in overcoming.

The Holy Spirit  (Jn. 14:26 & Jn. 16:13)

- To teach us all things ...

- To remind us of everything the word says

- To guide us into all truth

- To show us things to come

The angels of the Lord

Psa. 91:11 ... For HE shall give HIS angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.

Jesus sits at right hand of God and intercedes for us.

Romans 8:34... Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, WHO is even at the right hand of God, WHO also maketh intercession for us.

The Holy Spirit intercedes for us according to the will of God in the matter at hand.

Romans 8:26-27 ... Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.  And HE that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because HE maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.

Promises from God in Bible

II Peter 1 ... According as HIS divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of HIM that hath called us to glory and virtue: Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

Plus we can pray directly to God and ask for help. And HE will not fail us.

Heb. 13:5...  Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.  So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.

James 1:5 … If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

In the midst of the temptation, God makes a way of escape for us ...

I Cor. 10:13 ... There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

Jesus said "none" can pluck us out of God's hand when we belong to HIM and follow HIM.

Jn. 10 … My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow ME: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any pluck them out of MY hand. MY Father, which gave them ME, is greater than all; and none is able to pluck them out of MY Father’s hand.

God put HIS laws in our minds and wrote HIS laws on our heart.

Heb. 8 ... For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put MY laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to ME a people: And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know ME, from the least to the greatest. For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.

Is it any wonder that Paul said ... in all these things we are more than conquerors through HIM that loved us. Romans 8:37

I would think it would be helpful to keep these scriptures before us for a while and keep looking at these truths to build ourselves up in the faith.

We might slip a little. But HE will pull us back up, especially when we cling to HIM and hold on to HIS promises and follow HIM.

The above scriptures should help greatly.

I can't stand the idea of the world overcoming me. That is out of order. That should not happen. We must not allow that to happen.

Like Caleb said,

Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome ... Num. 13:30

* Scriptures

I want to get scripture more deeply inside me and I know we can do that by meditating throughout the day on key scriptures.

I have gone through this writing today and have selected various scriptures today that are especially meaningful to me at this point in time.  I have grouped those scriptures together.  And have sent them by email to myself so when I open my email throughout that day, those scriptures will be there and this will give me more opportunity to think of those scripture and do them.

You might want to make your own list of scriptures that stands out to you as you read today's writings.  That makes them so personal to your needs.

Colossians 3   If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.

(Pray: asking God to show you what to do ... seeking those things which are above, what God thinks.)

2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.  (doing God will rather than trying to accomplish your own will)

3 For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.

When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with Him in glory.

Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:

6 For which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience:

7 In the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them.

8 But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth.

9 Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds;

10 And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of HIM that created him:

Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;  Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.

14 And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.

15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.

16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

(Admonishing: warn or reprimand firmly, rebuke, scold, reprove, take to task, upbraid, chastise, advise or urge earnestly, warn of something to be avoided)

17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by Him.

23 And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;

24 Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.

25 But he that doeth wrong shall receive for the wrong which he hath done: and there is no respect of persons.

Joshua 1

5  There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life: as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.

7-9   Only be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest prosper whithersoever thou goest.

This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.

Proverbs 2:20-22

That thou mayest walk in the way of good, and keep the paths of the righteous.

For the upright shall dwell in the land, and the perfect shall remain in it.

But the wicked shall be cut off from the earth, and the transgressors shall be rooted out of it.

Are you troubled by judgment and corrections?

God is comforted by judgment!

Why?

Because God is righteousness and God cannot stand unrighteousness.  By correction and judgment the wrath of God is appeased.

Ezekiel 5:13   God says:  Thus shall MINE anger be accomplished, and I will cause MY fury to rest upon them, and I will be comforted: and they shall know that I the LORD have spoken it in MY zeal, when I have accomplished MY fury in them.

Consider the work and examples of Phinehas.

Numbers 25

1 And Israel abode in Shittim, and the people began to commit whoredom with the daughters of Moab.

And they called the people unto the sacrifices of their gods: and the people did eat, and bowed down to their gods.

And Israel joined himself unto Baalpeor: and the anger of the LORD was kindled against Israel.

And the LORD said unto Moses, Take all the heads of the people, and hang them up before the LORD against the sun, that the fierce anger of the LORD may be turned away from Israel.

(By righteous judgment and correction, the anger of the Lord is satisfied that all be not destroyed, for God is righteous and will not be satisfied unless correction and judgment is administered.)

Numbers 25   And Moses said unto the judges of Israel, Slay ye every one his men that were joined unto Baalpeor.

And, behold, one of the children of Israel came and brought unto his brethren a Midianitish woman in the sight of Moses, and in the sight of all the congregation of the children of Israel, who were weeping before the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.

And when Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, saw it, he rose up from among the congregation, and took a javelin in his hand; And he went after the man of Israel into the tent, and thrust both of them through, the man of Israel, and the woman through her belly. So the plague was stayed from the children of Israel.  And those that died in the plague were twenty and four thousand.

And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, hath turned MY wrath away from the children of Israel, while he was zealous for MY sake among them, that I consumed not the children of Israel in MY jealousy.

Wherefore say, Behold, I give unto him MY covenant of peace:

And he shall have it, and his seed after him, even the covenant of an everlasting priesthood; because he was zealous for his God, and made an atonement for the children of Israel.

Now the name of the Israelite that was slain, even that was slain with the Midianitish woman, was Zimri, the son of Salu, a prince of a chief house among the Simeonites.

And the name of the Midianitish woman that was slain was Cozbi, the daughter of Zur; he was head over a people, and of a chief house in Midian.

(Throughout OT you will read of the sin of Zimri and the sin of Cozbi.)

Judgment is coming upon this present earth by the end-time "Wrath of God."

If you can't stand correction or judgment, where does that place you?

It places you with the unrighteous.

Instead you should place yourself with the angels of God, approving God's judgment upon the unrighteous.

Revelation 16:5-7    And I heard the angel of the waters say, Thou art righteous, O Lord, which art, and wast, and shalt be, because thou hast judged thus.

For they have shed the blood of saints and prophets, and thou hast given them blood to drink; for they are worthy.

And I heard another out of the altar say, Even so, Lord God Almighty, true and righteous are THY judgments.

*****

Certainly Jesus is our appeasement for sin that we come to God through HIM.

But after you come to God, what happens if you return to sin?

Hebrews 10 tells us what happens if the person who is cleansed returns to sin.

vv. 25-31    exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,  But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.

He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses:

Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?

For we know HIM that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto ME, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge HIS people.

It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

A rebellious house

Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

We have many people who say they are Christians who are rebellious against the scriptures they dislike and they are rebellious against the correction God sends by HIS ministers, especially rebellious against God's servants, the prophets.

To rebel or be rebellious means:

- to resist the instruction given by God
- to oppose scriptures (antichrist)
- to challenge the authority of God's appointed ministers
- defiant, disobedient, unruly, perverse, contrary, disrespectful

Titus 1:5-9   Concerning elders/bishops  (same office)
For this cause left I thee in Crete, that thou shouldest set in order the things that are wanting, and ordain elders in every city, as I had appointed thee:

If any be blameless, the husband of one wife, having faithful children not accused of riot or unruly.

For a bishop must be blameless, as the steward of God; not selfwilled, not soon angry, not given to wine, no striker, not given to filthy lucre;

But a lover of hospitality, a lover of good men, sober, just, holy, temperate;

Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers.

For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:

And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.

* Instruction In Righteousness: Colossians 2

For I would that ye knew what great conflict I have for you, and for them at Laodicea, and for as many as have not seen my face in the flesh;

That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ;

In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

And this I say, lest any man should beguile you with enticing words.

For though I be absent in the flesh, yet am I with you in the spirit, joying and beholding your order, and the stedfastness of your faith in Christ.

As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in Him:

(We received Jesus by faith ... walk in faith in everything, trusting in God always by faith in God.)

Rooted and built up in Him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.

Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.

For in Him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.

10 And ye are complete in Him, which is the head of all principality and power:

11 In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ:

12 Buried with Him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with Him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised Him from the dead.

13 And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath He quickened together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses;
14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to His cross;

15 And having spoiled principalities and powers, He made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.

16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:

17 Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.

18 Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind,
19 And not holding the Head, from which all the body by joints and bands having nourishment ministered, and knit together, increaseth with the increase of God.

20 Wherefore if ye be dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances, 21 (Touch not; taste not; handle not; 22 Which all are to perish with the using;) after the commandments and doctrines of men?

23 Which things have indeed a shew of wisdom in will worship, and humility, and neglecting of the body: not in any honour to the satisfying of the flesh.

The children of obedience ... The children of disobedience

Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

When the word of God rules over your action on this earth, you are one of the children of obedience.

We bow our knee to the word of God by allowing the word of God rule over our own desires.

The apostle Paul said:  I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.  Philippians 4:13

Christ is The Word.  When we see The Word on an issue it strengthens us to be able to do the will of God, overcoming our own flesh and devils through that Word given us by God by HIS Spirit.

In a recent problem, I saw this word as I was reading a chapter of Bible.

Philippians 4:6     Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

I focused on this scripture and the first thing that caught my attention is:  What are my requests in this matter?  What do I want to ask God to do in this situation?

*****

A few days ago, I noticed a portion of Joshua 1...

9  God says:  Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.

I was not afraid in the situation.  But I was dismayed!

Dismayed:
- distressed
- shaken up
- disturbed
- upset

God said in this scripture:  Neither be dismayed.

Then God tells us why we should not be dismayed.

God is with us where ever we go.

God is on our side to steady us and calm us and show us what to do.

Stop and pray:  God will help us.

*****

Recently a woman in our little church group asked me to forgive her for failing to offer her support to me in a difficult situation.

Normally I would respond like a robot saying, "Of course I forgive you."

But this time I stopped myself and prayed.

God gave me a true answer for this woman.

"I can forgive you for that which you did against me ... but I cannot forgive you for the way you handled the Word of God."

I Corinthians 11:28-32   (this pertains to how we handle the Bible and the Word God speaks to us)

But let a man examine himself
(by that Word), and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup (examining himself).

For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord's body.

For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep.

For if we would judge ourselves
(by that Word), we should not be judged.

But when we are judged
(by another person bringing correction from God), we are chastened of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world.

*****

When we are the children of obedience, the scripture rules over us causing us to go that way, giving up our own way.

The children of disobedience ignore scripture and continue in their own way.

Colossians 3:5-6   Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:

For which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience:

The Work Must Be Authored By God

Jesus said:

Mt. 7:21-23  Not every one that saith unto ME, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of MY Father which is in heaven.  Many will say to ME in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in THY name? and in THY name have cast out devils? and in THY name done many wonderful works?  And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

Many people do all manner of religious works which seem good … but unless God told them to do those works, those works are not good, they are works of their own fleshly minds, often authored by what they hear at church or from other people.

Only works authored by the Spirit of God are “good” works.

You can even try to do a scripture and have the work counted by God as evil.

The Spirit of God searches the heart of God to show us the will of God in the various matters of this present life.

*****

I Cor. 13 …  Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.  And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.  And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.

I am acquainted with a woman who is an heiress, having very large trust fund and much money … She gives to all manner of organizations. But she is one of the most scornful persons I have ever seen … speaking of how ridiculous others are and always saying, “Can you believe they would do this?” exalting herself.

God said to me this woman is “self-righteous.” (Her righteousness is of her own self, her own works.)

She attends a church but she is not born again.

She would be shocked to know that her many financial gifts will end up profiting her nothing… for she is un-charitable …

Charity is not exactly “love” as some translations of Bible would say. Often young women especially like to think of these scriptures in terms of romantic attachments.

But godly charity has to do with the withholding of various judgments, not exacting all that the evil doer should receive.

God had “charity”, mercy, to me for I was certainly in no way deserving of salvation. I was terrible before I was born again.

Paul saysRomans 9 …  Not as though the word of God hath taken none effect. For they are not all Israel, which are of Israel:  Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children: but, In Isaac shall thy seed be called.  That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed.

For this is the word of promise, At this time will I come, and Sara shall have a son.

And not only this; but when Rebecca also had conceived by one, even by our father Isaac;  (For the children being not yet born, neither having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works, but of him that calleth;)  It was said unto her, The elder shall serve the younger.  As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated.

What shall we say then? Is there unrighteousness with God? God forbid.  For HE saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.  So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.

For the scripture saith unto Pharaoh, Even for this same purpose have I raised thee up, that I might shew my power in thee, and that my name might be declared throughout all the earth.

Therefore hath HE mercy on whom HE will have mercy, and whom HE will he hardeneth.

When we set about on a good work, we must have evidence inside us that God authored the work. This evidence of the Holy Spirit speaking telling us to do that work is an anchor for our soul in difficult times which are likely to come for the works sake, persecution for the word.

Concerning good works … one person could visit the sick and it be the right spirit leading him … another person could be led by his own mind because he thinks he must do this and it would avail nothing and might even be harmful to the sick person.

The work must be authored by God and you must be led by the Spirit of God in everything you do.

It is also very important for us to have assurance in us that God told us to do that work.

*****

In January, 1980, I was asleep in the night and a trumpet like voice sounded in my ear saying 3 words to me … “Hartford, Seattle, KWJS”

This put me on radio on station KWJS. Do I have strong assurance that God wanted me to go on radio? Absolutely.

In March, 2012, I received a dream showing me to start a blog on Internet.

In December, 2015, I had concept of writing book for Kindle. I prayed asking God if that is what HE wanted. By the Holy Spirit, I heard … “I am with you whithersoever you go …”

That was good enough for me. I started writing immediately.

Throughout each of the past 30+ years since being born again, I have had assurance of God leading me before I started any work that I felt I was to do.

I have also found when God authors the work there are certain characteristics present:

The work is simple.

The money is there for the work … no begging for money.

It is not difficult to do the work.

There is great joy in going forward.

It is not a burden in any way.

Everything needed is provided immediately.

There is no hardship.

Workers are available to me for each step.

*****

I receive so many ministers begging me to give them money for their works. There is no example in the Bible of a minister asking for money to do a work that is supposed to be of God. Often these ministers list all kinds of works they have undertaken “in the name of God” and they try to get people to give them money to pay for their “good” works.

What does Jesus say?

Mt. 7 …Many will say to ME in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in THY name? and in THY name have cast out devils? and in THY name done many wonderful works?  And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from ME, ye that work iniquity.

God did not author that work they speak of as “good”.

Jesus calls that work a work of iniquity though they say it is “good”.

Jesus tells them to “depart from HIM.”

I do not give to ministers who ask for money.

David said: I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread. Psalm 37:25

The apostle James says the wisdom that is from God is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy. James 3:17

Some ministers are extortioners … using all sorts of pressure techniques, telling you to expect a 100-fold return on your “gift”, stirring up greed and lust in the congregation, appealing to flesh of man as if he is some type of investment broker. This is exceedingly evil.

100-fold return in Bible has nothing at all to do with giving money at church …

Mk. 10 ... Then Peter began to say unto HIM, Lo, we have left all, and have followed thee.

And Jesus answered and said, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel’s, But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life.

*****

I am shocked at how brazen ministers can be in their pursuit of money from the church.

They are often masters at making church people feel guilty.

Do not allow such to happen to you.

The ministers who do such buy themselves terrible futures either on this present earth or eternally.

I Tim. 5:24 … Some men's sins are open beforehand, going before to judgment; and some men they follow after.

Some sins get exposed on this earth and precede them to judgment. Other men’s sins are hidden and in secret from us. But all these sins will show up at the day of judgment and there will be great shame then, weeping and gnashing of teeth, and they will really weep when they see Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in heaven and themselves cast out for all eternity.

Whether you are a public figure minister or whether you are a private “little” person … you must be very careful about those “good” works you do … those works will be judged by Jesus and be rewarded with great penalty to you or great reward in heaven dependent on whether or not the work was authored by God.

Did God really tell you to do that?

I always examine this over what I do and so should you.

Scriptures for meditating from today's writing

I want to get scripture more deeply inside me and I know we can do that by meditating throughout the day on key scriptures.

I have gone through this writing today and have selected various scriptures today that are especially meaningful to me at this point in time.  I have grouped those scriptures together.  And have sent them by email to myself so when I open my email throughout that day, those scriptures will be there and this will give me more opportunity to think of those scripture and do them.

You might want to make your own list of scriptures that stands out to you as you read today's writings.  That makes them so personal to your needs.

Joshua 1    5  There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life: as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.

Hebrews 10:25-31  exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

Revelation 16:5-7 And I heard the angel of the waters say, Thou art righteous, O Lord, which art, and wast, and shalt be, because thou hast judged thus.
For they have shed the blood of saints and prophets, and thou hast given them blood to drink; for they are worthy.
And I heard another out of the altar say, Even so, Lord God Almighty, true and righteous are thy judgments.
