Scripture: Shared by body of Christ

2 Corinthians 3:5 ... Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God;

Exhortation:  Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

Jn. 5:30 ... Jesus said ... I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.

The only thing we do on this earth is that which the Holy Spirit speaks.

I Cor. 2 ... Paul said ... And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God. 2For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified. 3And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling. 4And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:  5That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.

God sent me to speak to you

Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

If a person said, "God sent me to speak to you," wouldn't you want to hear what that person had to say?

When God called Moses to go to the children of Israel, God said to Moses:   Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, The LORD God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, hath sent me unto you:.  Ex. 3:15

God told Moses to tell them that God sent him to them.

In approximately 1980, I was asleep and was sharply awakened when 3 words were spoken to me:  Hartford, Seattle, KWJS.  I jumped out of bed and wrote KWJS on a note pad.  It was obviously call letters to either radio or TV.  Turns out it was a radio station.  What is God saying with this word?  I asked God, "Are you telling me to go on radio? ... I wouldn't know how to do that."

A gentle thought followed ... "Just call the radio station manager."

So that morning, I called the radio station manager and told him God might be leading me to go on radio and I asked him how you do that.  He replied, "Make an audition tape 29 1/2 minutes long and send it to us and if you fit our broadcasting we will send you a contract."

"How much does it cost," I asked.  "$800 a month." he replied.

After the phone call, I asked God.  "How do You want me to pay for this?"

Gentle thought ... "Just write a letter telling what happened and send it to the people you know."

Basically, what God was telling me is the same thing God told Moses in Ex. 3:15 ... Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, The LORD God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, hath sent me unto you:.

Consider what happened:  I was awakened in the night by a voice like a trumpet.  The voice said 3 words to me:  "Hartford, Seattle, KWJS."

God saying:  I'm putting her on radio with a message for you.

By sending this letter, telling them what happened, this is exactly what I was saying to those persons who had an ear to hear.  (and a few did have an ear to hear)

March 29, 2012, I had a dream.  A woman was singing.  I said, "It's a nice little voice.  It's not a great voice but it is a nice little voice."  And in the dream I saw a way for the church to share and it was Internet, by setting up a blog.

When I tell this, what am I saying:  "The LORD God is sending me to you."(God spoke to me through a dream and showed me to do these writings on Internet.)

Those who have an ear to hear will recognize this.

Some do not have an ear to hear.  Recently a man was at my house and he was telling me a bunch of things that God was doing in his life. (But what he was saying is he had this emotion and that emotion.  None of it had the WORD in it.)  What he was saying was nonsense.  It was all emotion and not God.  At one point I told him of the dream from God showing me to go on internet.  I pulled the blog up on my computer screen and showed it to him.  He wasn't at all interested.  Yet what I had said to him is what God told Moses to say to the children of Israel:  "The Lord God sent me to you."  He didn't have an ear from God to hear and didn't recognize what I was saying to him.

But if you know God has sent someone to speak, don't you (being of God) want to hear what that sent person says?

Within 3 days of that dream, we were publishing this blog on Internet.  A few weeks after that, we began printing scriptures sent by various members of the body of Christ.  By the Holy Spirit, God instructed me:  "Exhort them by these scriptures."  After that, I began sharing one scripture sent per day and began writing an exhortation for that scripture.

Exhorting the church in the Word of God is so important.

I know some have an ear to hear what the Spirit is saying through us because God told us to exhort one another in the church.  Heb. 3 & Heb. 10  If this was futile and of no value, God wouldn't have told us to do this.

Heb. 3 ... Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God. 13But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin. 14For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end;

Heb. 10 ... And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: 25Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

Scripture: Shared by body of Christ

Galatians 6:14-15 ... But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world. 15 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature.

Exhortation:  Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

Circumcision is the cutting away of the flesh.  In the OT this was done at the commandment of God.  In the NT we have a circumcision (cutting away of the flesh) done without hands.  Our circumcision today is done through the cross of Jesus and by THE WORD which we hear from the Spirit of God and diligently follow.

Truly, now, the world is crucified to me and to each person who belongs to God.  The world is dead to us.  We see the ads on TV where the people of the world delight in getting things of the world.  I know I just stare at the picture of them in their delight.  What they are pursuing means nothing at all to me.

That which I lust after is THE WORD OF GOD.  I want to hear and see that WORD GOD would give me that specific moment in time.

My life is in Christ, THE WORD.  My life is hidden in HIM.

Allowing the Word of God to help us

Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

When meditating in the Word of God it is very important to be courageous enough so you can face the scripture honestly and not just skim over the verse.

Recently the following scripture caught my attention.

Psa. 17:4 ... Concerning the works of men, by the word of thy lips I have kept me from the paths of the destroyer.

I thought about some of the ways God spared me by giving me information.

Example:

God gave me 2 dreams about one of my cousins.  In one dream, I needed to get out of my house but I couldn't go through her house to get out.  It wouldn't work.  After my mother died, this cousin wanted me to move where she lives.  Both of her adult aged sons live there and her husband is still living.  She said how "helpful" the boys could be to us.  And her husband is the kind of man who is very good at helping in physical ways.  But I had been shown in that dream that I couldn't go through her house.  So I didn't consider moving to the city where she lives.  I ended up going to a city the opposite direction.

Another dream about this cousin:  I was at her house and she was blaming me for spilling something on her carpet under her table.  I tried to explain I hadn't been in that room.  But she wouldn't listen me to.  There was another woman with her and she just kept complaining about me.  It isn't going to work for me to try to talk to this cousin.

There is woman who often complains to me about other people when she sees me.  Example:  She was cleaning out refrigerator at bridge center and no one offered to help her.  She was taking out garbage and another bridge player walked past her and spoke but never offered to help her.  I heard one word which I knew to be from God concerning this woman to describe her:  "self righteous"  By hearing this word, I am more guarded in speaking to her for she is going to consider herself to be righteous in what she does.  It will do no good to correct her.

I am greatly influenced by various dreams and words that I hear such as above examples.  And I know these keep me from going in another way concerning these people.

The body and blood of Jesus

Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

When I was a very young child, we would visit my aunt who lived in another town.  She always took me to church with her.  At the service, they passed around crackers and members would break off a piece of cracker and solemly put it into their mouths.  Then they passed around cups of grape juice which members solemly drank.  Everyone was very quiet and serious.  They called this "The Lord's Supper" and said they were partaking of the body of Jesus by eating that piece of cracker and the blood of Jesus by drinking that grape juice.  I watched them but didn't understand.

I was baptized in water when I was 15.  At the church services they passed around crackers as the body of Jesus and grape juice as the blood of Jesus.  I was always so uncomfortable.  I didn't know how I was supposed to act.  But I just watched the people and did what they did.  But it meant nothing and did nothing at all to change me in any way.  It just made me uncomfortable and slightly confused as to purpose.

Then when I was 37, I was truly born again and had the Spirit of God.  The church I was attending at the time passed crackers and grape juice and called it the body and blood of Jesus.  I always dreaded this.  I didn't know how I was supposed to "examine myself" (I Cor. 11) before partaking of the cracker and grape juice.   So I just did what everyone else did and took these.  But I had no idea how this pertained in any way to the body and blood of Jesus.  And when I took these I was not changed in any way.

Later God showed me the real body and blood of Jesus is  THE WORD OF GOD.  When I hear a Word from the Spirit of God and consider that which I have heard and make changes as needed, I am eating the body of Jesus and drinking the blood of Jesus.  In this there is real power.  Through this change took place in me.

I also saw that when I read the Bible and examine myself with scripture, I am eating the body of Jesus and drinking the blood of Jesus.  Again real change took place.

After seeing these things, I no longer ate crackers nor drank grape juice when it was represented as The Lord's Supper.

I would think some of you reading this had the same type of problem I have talked about.

When you consider the Word of God, the Bible and various scriptures as the body and blood of Jesus it makes sense.  And we then understand what the real "communion" is with the Word.  And we can examine ourselves by these scriptures as we read them.  We can do all the things spoken of in I Cor. 11.  And when we handle these scriptures properly we have real food and real drink in us and we grow stronger in the Lord.

I Cor. 11 ... For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, That the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread: 24And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me.  25After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me. 26For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord’s death till he come.  27Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord. 28But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup. 29For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord’s body.  30For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep. 31For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged. 32But when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world.

Scripture: Shared by body of Christ

Galatians 4:6 ... And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.

Exhortation:  Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

As the nation of Israel in the Old Testament was chosen by God above all peoples of the earth, so are we today in NT chosen by God.  Like Israel, we are not chosen because of our worthiness.  We were chosen because it was the will of God.  And when we are chosen by God, we are conformed into HIS image by THE WORD.  THE WORD comes to us and we do as instructed and we are changed.  THE WORD comes to us and we see the way of God to go in the issue at hand.  THE WORD divides us from the world because seeing the way of God we choose to go that way which the world cannot see and this causes us to be divided.

We are now dead to the world.  We no longer enjoy doing those things they do.  We have been made different by THE WORD.  Now they see us as having no life while they are out there committing fornication and being drunk.  But our life is hidden.  Our life is with Christ, THE WORD.  And when Christ appears our life will appear with HIM.  In the meantime we focus on HIM, THE WORD.

Turned into a peculiar people

Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

Titus 2 ... For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,  12Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly,  righteously, and godly, in this present world; 13Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;  14Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.

We, who belong to God, are turned into "a peculiar people" ...

That word "peculiar" in Latin means:  "belonging exclusively to"

From the middle English definition, "peculiar" means:  "special"

Both of these definitions fit us:

We belong exclusively to God by His will, not by our works, simply because HE chose us just as HE chose the nation of Israel in Old Testament.  God chose us to be HIS own special people, belonging exclusively to HIM.

So God simply changed us.

We don't live as we once lived by the flesh of man, doing that which pleased our flesh.  We are changed so now we put to death the flesh by the cross of Jesus, identification with Jesus who denied the flesh and obeyed God even to the death of the cross.

Therefore Paul says:  I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. Gal. 2:20

We no longer fit in with the gang.  We are now dead to the world and the various pleasures of the world.  We have been raised from the death of this world.

Therefore the following is true:  And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power: 11In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ: 12Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.  Col. 2

And as we live our years on this earth, over and over we are changed by God through the WORD by the Holy Spirit, continually recreated in the image of THE WORD.

And Paul told us to do the following ... Romans 12:2 ... And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

We read the Bible daily.  We focus on specific scripture that catches our interest.  We look deeply into that scripture.  We apply that scripture to our way of life.  We do this daily.  By this we eat our "daily bread" from God.  We eat the flesh of Jesus and drink His blood.  For in this is our life!  Without it we wilt away and become as dead people.  Then we start again to eat scripture and we began to feel life again and it is like a blood transfusion to us.  Each of us must hunt our own food daily and eat our own food daily otherwise our spiritual bodies will not grow in the Lord.

The most cherished time of each day for me is that time that I sit quietly with my Bible.  I just begin reading Bible.  Eventually there will be something catching my attention.  I stop and focus on that scripture, eating HIS flesh and drinking HIS blood.

Jesus said:  Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you. Jn. 6:53

You can eat what I write and be helped.  But you also must go out and shop for your own food and eat that food.  By doing this you grow strong in the Lord.  Each of us must do this daily.  It must become a way of life for us, for indeed this is the way of life.

Scripture: Shared by body of Christ

1 Corinthians 10:13 ... There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

Exhortation:  Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

The many problems of this life are "common" to all.  It may seem like we are unique in that which we are going through but not so.

Heb. 4:8 ...Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession. 15For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. 16Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

Circumcision made without hands

Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

The apostle Paul spoke of a NT circumcision.  This Paul described as a circumcision made without hands.

Col. 2 ... For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. 10And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power: 11In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ:

In the Old Testament there was a circumcision made with hands in the cutting away of the flesh.

In the New Testament that cutting away of the flesh is made without hands.  It is done by the Word sent to us by God through His Spirit.  When we hear that word, it is as a knife cutting away flesh, separating us from the way of the world in which we once walked.

The Word that God sends to us divides us from the world.  We are changed from them.  We once walked as did the world, desiring those things of the flesh.  But when that flesh was cut away by the Word, we went another way, the way of God.

This is the NT circumcision made without hand.  It is made by the Spirit of God through the Word the Spirit speaks to us.

We become dead to the world.

As I watch TV, I am constantly amazed at those things people consider important.  I just stare at commercials where people show such delight in notebook computers, cell phones that are as computers, cars, jewels ... These things seems so important to the world ... fulfillment even ... It is like I am dead to all these things.  None of these excite me.  Cruises do not excite me.  But in these commercials these various things seem so important and wonderful, but I know they are not important.  And their wonder is so temporary until the new wears off.  Basically all these things are just futile activities ... they make the flesh think it is really doing something when it isn't... only clouds without water ... promising wondrous things but not fulfilling such ...

I watch football on TV.  I see people devastated by losing.  I see people thrilled over winning.  I know neither losing nor winning are anything.  Both are just fleshly deceptions.

There was a time these things were important to me.  But I was changed by God.  And bit by bit after God revealed Himself to me, that flesh was cut away and I became dead to the world and its many joys and thrills.  So now I see such on TV and just stare at the people who consider the various fleshly wonders ... glad that I don't have to do these things anymore!

Col. 2:12 ... Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.

I was once dead with the people of the world.  But God revealed HIMSELF to me and I was raised from the dead of this world. I was changed  and those things that were once important are no longer important to me.

By being changed, I became dead to the world but alive to God, now caring about the works of God and the marvels of God... continually transformed into the image of Christ as God reveals pieces of THE WORD to me.

Scripture: Shared by body of Christ

1 Timothy 6:6-8 ... But godliness with contentment is great gain. 7 For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. 8 And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.

Exhortation:  Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

Do you have food?  Do you have raiment?

Seems simple when viewed this way.

To do the above scripture frees us from many hurtful things of life.

Are the commandments of God grievous?

Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

I heard the following from the Holy Spirit ... "My words are not grievous."

I stopped and thought about this.  Is there any time in the 30+ years that I have been born again that I have had a word from God telling me to do something that I felt was "grievous"?  The answer is, "No ... not one instruction from God has been grief to me."  I just considered that what I heard from God was life and the way of life for me and the best way for me to go on this earth.  But I am speaking of what I heard after I was born again.  Before I was born again it might not have been so.  For unless you are born again, you cannot see things of God ...

Jesus says this in Jn. 3 ...  Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.  And Paul says ... I Cor. 2 ... For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God. 12Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. 13Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. 14But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

After hearing, "My words are not grievous ...", I knew there was a scripture about this and when I looked it up I found it in I Jn. 5.

I Jn. 5:3 ... For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.

I have come across people who feel the commands of God are just too much for them to consider.  One woman attended church but was committing fornication.  She felt she could not be fulfilled in life otherwise.  I suspect she was not born again.

For those of us who are born again, we see the commandments of God as "light" so we know the way to walk.  We consider the WORD to be life and not death.  The people of the flesh go in a way of death.  We are able to go in a way of "life" because of the scriptures, THE WORD OF GOD.  And each time we hear an instruction from God and go that way, we depart from the way of death and go in the way of life.  But to the world it seems hard, unreasonable to go in the way of the WORD.

Thus to us the instruction is life.  But to the people of the world who go by their own feelings, their own flesh that same WORD is as death.

Grievous means:
- to feel grief because of
- distress
- harm, oppress, burden, encumber
- grave:  giving cause for alarm

WORDS such as:
- flee fornication
- avoid strife & vain glory
- make yourself of no reputation

Fornication, pursuit of personal glory, making yourself to be somebody are actions that delight the flesh ... and are ways of the flesh ...  Gal. 5 ... Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, 20Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance (strife & debating), emulations (competitions, trying to outdo other people), wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, 21Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

But the ways of the flesh which are loved by flesh are ways of death.   But these ways seem fulfilling until be are born again and then we are changed.  And then we see that the ways of God are a departure from death and God's ways are:  Life unto them that find them, and health to all their flesh.  Prov. 4:22

The way of the flesh and the way of God is opposite.

But those of us of God see the word of God as life.  And therefore it is not grievous for us to consider going in the way of God and abstaining from the way of our flesh.  For the way of flesh is death and we who are born of God know this now.

Gal. 5:

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. 24And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.  25If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. 26Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.

Scripture: Shared by body of Christ

Psalm 119:114 ... Thou art my hiding place and my shield: I hope in thy word.

Exhortation:  Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

Those of us who belong to God run to HIM in time of trouble as a little child will run to parents when he is frightened.  HE hides us.  HE shields us ... and we hope in HIM.

Col. 3 ... If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. 2Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.  3For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. 4When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.

Our life is hidden in HIM.

Once a radio station manager in Pittsburgh looked at me and said, "What a waste..."  I was about 38 at the time and he saw me as desirable marriage material and the fact that I was not married and had no children to him was a waste.  My life was hidden from this man.

My life is hidden from most people.  They look at me and do not understand.  I see this all the time. They consider themselves to have a real life and they pity me.  They do not see my life.  My life is hidden from them.

I have a very good life.  It is the life chosen for me by God.  I didn't choose it.  God chose it.  It is far better than that I would have chosen for myself and today I am able to see that.

I read the Bible starting each morning, usually before I get out of bed.  I eat the flesh of Jesus and drink the blood of Jesus by finding scriptures daily and by applying them to my life, conforming myself to the image of the Word.  Often several hours pass as I am working through scripture.  The time flies by.  And the meat of the Word of God is not like the natural food we eat, for natural food goes in one end and comes out the other.  The meat of the Word of God is good for today and forever, never perishing.  The things of this world seem so important but they are usually only good for a day before they fade.  When my neighbor was dying, he looked at me and said:  "I've decided it doesn't matter who wins the Super Bowl."  Those worldly things can seem so important only to pass as a vapor along with your life.  Before you know it, it is gone.  But the Word of the Lord endures for ever.  It is now for this life and for all eternity.  And it will not pass away.

They came to Jesus because they saw him multiply the loaves and fishes... Then Jesus said to them:  Ye seek me, not because ye saw the miracles, but because ye did eat of the loaves, and were filled. 27Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed.
Jn. 6

Lk. 10 ... Now it came to pass, as they went, that he entered into a certain village: and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house. 39And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus’ feet, and heard his word. 40But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me. 41And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things: 42But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.

If we can understand the truth of the following, we will see how important it is to meditate daily in the Bible and find food for ourselves from the scriptures.

Jn. 6

v. 33 ...  the bread of God is he  (THE WORD) which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world.

v.  35 ... And Jesus said unto them, I (THE WORD) am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.

v. 48 ... I (THE WORD) am that bread of life.

v. 50 ... This (THE WORD) is the bread which cometh down from heaven, that a man may eat thereof, and not die. 51 I (THE WORD) am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread (THE WORD), he shall live for ever:

v. 53 ... Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you.

We eat the flesh of Jesus and drink HIS blood each time we take the Bible and look for a scripture that is meaningful to us at that specific time and study that scripture and then apply it to our life by making appropriate changes to our life.  This is the partaking of the Lord's supper.

Meditation examples

Meditation:  Joan Boney

Psa. 4:5 ... Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and put your trust in the LORD.

This is the work of God ... that you believe.

Job. 13:15 ... Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him:

We, as humans, want to know "WHY" things happened, especially to us.  We, who are of God, learn to trust HIM.  God allowed Jesus to die on a cross.  God allowed Herod to kill John the Baptist.  Sometimes God spares us from the earthly problem.  Other times we are given grace to go through the problem and endure.  The important thing is to continue in the faith, believing as did Abraham that even if God had him kill his own son, God would raise him from the dead.  And this was a type and shadow of Jesus who was slain by the will of God and then raised from the dead.  We, who belong to God, though we be slain know God will raise us from dead as HE raised Jesus from dead.

Psa. 69:34 ... Let the heaven and earth praise him, the seas, and every thing that moveth therein.

Sun ... moon ... stars ... staying where God put them ... continuing to do what God told them to do.  God set a boundary for the sea that it could only come up so far on the beach.  And that is what the sea does, obeying God, doing what God said to do.  These are examples for us.  We praise God when we do what HE says to do and when we continue in that Word, doing it.

Psa. 71:24 ... My tongue also shall talk of thy righteousness all the day long:

Many people talk of the "righteousness", good, they do ... and they speak of the "righteousness" done by others, praising men.

We talk of the righteousness of God.

The Word leads us and also confirms the way we are going

Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

Psa. 119:105 ... Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.

When the Word of God comes to me by the Holy Spirit I know what to do in the specific issue of life.

Sometimes I make a choice and later have a word come which confirms the choice I made. Here is an example of that:  When I left the bridge center about two years ago and quit playing bridge,  I didn't look for another place to go or another activity.  I knew there was no place for me on this present earth.  I just stayed home.  After seven months of not trying to find "a life" on this earth, God gave me a dream showing me to go on Internet and do these writings we do for the church.  Within three days we were publishing on the blog.

Several people tried to get me to return to bridge during those seven months while I was alone waiting at my house.  God gave me a scripture which showed me not to return to bridge and not to try to find another secular activity... not to try to find my life on this earth ...

Phil. 2 ... Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: 6Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: 7But made himself of no reputation,

This scripture certainly gave me strength during this time and confirmed the way I had already decided.  For without a word, I decided not to look for "my" life.  I could have looked in newspaper and tried to find things in my town to go to and things to do here.  I thought about doing this.   Then it just seemed to me this would be futile and of no value.  So I decided not to look for anything to do.  Then I saw the confirmation in Phil. 2.

So sometimes the word is given to us to lead us in the way to go ... and sometimes we make a decision without the word and later have a word given to us by the Holy Spirit showing us we are going in the way of God by our decision.

So the Word leads us ... and the Word confirms the way.

Col.

Tempted with honor and riches of this world

Pam Padgett ... teacher

When God led the children of Israel to the plains of Moab, Moab saw how many there were and greatly feared them. Balak the king of Moab also knew that Israel had defeated Sihon, king of the Amorites, and had possessed their cities. Balak wanted Balaam to come curse Israel so Moab might drive Israel out of the land.  Balak sent messengers with rewards of divination to Balaam so he would come and curse Israel ... .

Numbers 22:1 And the children of Israel set forward, and pitched in the plains of Moab on this side Jordan by Jericho. 2 And Balak the son of Zippor saw all that Israel had done to the Amorites. 3 And Moab was sore afraid of the people, because they were many: and Moab was distressed because of the children of Israel. 4 And Moab said unto the elders of Midian, Now shall this company lick up all that are round about us, as the ox licketh up the grass of the field. And Balak the son of Zippor was king of the Moabites at that time. 5 He sent messengers therefore unto Balaam the son of Beor to Pethor, which is by the river of the land of the children of his people, to call him, saying, Behold, there is a people come out from Egypt: behold, they cover the face of the earth, and they abide over against me: 6 Come now therefore, I pray thee, curse me this people; for they are too mighty for me: peradventure I shall prevail, that we may smite them, and that I may drive them out of the land: for I wot that he whom thou blessest is blessed, and he whom thou cursest is cursed. 7 And the elders of Moab and the elders of Midian departed with the rewards of divination in their hand; and they came unto Balaam, and spake unto him the words of Balak.

Balaam allowed the elders sent from Balak to stay with him, and told them he would tell them what God said.  God told Balaam to not go with the men and that he was not to curse Israel, for they are blessed.  Balaam sent the elders back ...

Numbers 22:8 And he said unto them, Lodge here this night, and I will bring you word again, as the Lord shall speak unto me: and the princes of Moab abode with Balaam. 9 And God came unto Balaam, and said, What men are these with thee? 10 And Balaam said unto God, Balak the son of Zippor, king of Moab, hath sent unto me, saying, 11 Behold, there is a people come out of Egypt, which covereth the face of the earth: come now, curse me them; peradventure I shall be able to overcome them, and drive them out. 12 And God said unto Balaam, Thou shalt not go with them; thou shalt not curse the people: for they are blessed. 13 And Balaam rose up in the morning, and said unto the princes of Balak, Get you into your land: for the Lord refuseth to give me leave to go with you. 14 And the princes of Moab rose up, and they went unto Balak, and said, Balaam refuseth to come with us.

Then Balak sent men of more honor to Balaam, promising to give Balaam great honor and do whatever Balaam said, if he would come curse Israel.  Although God had already told Balaam that he was not to curse Israel and that Israel is blessed, Balaam received the men and said he would see what God would say ...

Numbers 22:15 And Balak sent yet again princes, more, and more honourable than they. 16 And they came to Balaam, and said to him, Thus saith Balak the son of Zippor, Let nothing, I pray thee, hinder thee from coming unto me: 17 For I will promote thee unto very great honour, and I will do whatsoever thou sayest unto me: come therefore, I pray thee, curse me this people. 18 And Balaam answered and said unto the servants of Balak, If Balak would give me his house full of silver and gold, I cannot go beyond the word of the Lord my God, to do less or more. 19 Now therefore, I pray you, tarry ye also here this night, that I may know what the Lord will say unto me more. 20 And God came unto Balaam at night, and said unto him, If the men come to call thee, rise up, and go with them; but yet the word which I shall say unto thee, that shalt thou do. 21 And Balaam rose up in the morning, and saddled his ass, and went with the princes of Moab. 22 And God's anger was kindled because he went: ...

Balaam's way was perverse before God, loving the rewards which Balak offered if he would come and curse Israel.  (Peter spoke of Balaam's love of the wages of unrighteousness ... Which have forsaken the right way, and are gone astray, following the way of Balaam the son of Bosor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness; 16 But was rebuked for his iniquity: the dumb ass speaking with man's voice forbad the madness of the prophet.  2 Peter 2:15-16)  And the anger of God was kindled because Balaam went.

God strongly dealt with Balaam as he went.  An angel was sent by God as an adversary against Balaam and stood in the way with his sword drawn.  Balaam's ass saw the angel and turned away three times, but Balaam did not see the angel and struck the donkey each time he turned away.  God caused the donkey to speak to Balaam, asking why he struck him.  When God opened Balaam's eyes to see the angel, the angel told him that his way was perverse and had the ass not turned away, the angel would have slain Balaam ....

Numbers 22:28 And the Lord opened the mouth of the ass, and she said unto Balaam, What have I done unto thee, that thou hast smitten me these three times? 29 And Balaam said unto the ass, Because thou hast mocked me: I would there were a sword in mine hand, for now would I kill thee. 30 And the ass said unto Balaam, Am not I thine ass, upon which thou hast ridden ever since I was thine unto this day? was I ever wont to do so unto thee? And he said, Nay.31 Then the Lord opened the eyes of Balaam, and he saw the angel of the Lord standing in the way, and his sword drawn in his hand: and he bowed down his head, and fell flat on his face. 32 And the angel of the Lord said unto him, Wherefore hast thou smitten thine ass these three times? behold, I went out to withstand thee, because thy way is perverse before me: 33 And the ass saw me, and turned from me these three times: unless she had turned from me, surely now also I had slain thee, and saved her alive.

Balaam said he would go back.  But the angel instructed him to go with the princes, and to speak only what God told him to speak ..

Numbers 22:34 And Balaam said unto the angel of the Lord, I have sinned; for I knew not that thou stoodest in the way against me: now therefore, if it displease thee, I will get me back again. 35 And the angel of the Lord said unto Balaam, Go with the men: but only the word that I shall speak unto thee, that thou shalt speak. So Balaam went with the princes of Balak.

Balaam went to Balak and spoke the words God gave him, words which blessed, rather than cursed, Israel. Balaam was also given words telling what Israel would do to the people of the land in the latter days. (Numbers 24)  The way of God was opposite to the way Balaam would have had to go to  gain rewards from Balak by cursing Israel.

To love and seek after honor and riches of this world by turning from the way of God and going in the way of evil to get them is a way of madness and death, not life.  We have been called by God to love HIM with all our hearts and to serve HIM.

The devil tempted Jesus offering glory and riches of this world, if only Jesus would fall down and worship him.  But Jesus gave no place to the devil, upholding the word that we are to worship and serve only God ...

Matthew 4:8 Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; 9 And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me. 10 Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.
