Scripture: Shared by body of Christ

Philippians 4:19 ... But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. 

Exhortation:  (Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet)

This is a promise of God to the church.  God will supply all our need.  Unfortunately we may think we need something when we do not need it.  We may desire something that is not God's will though it may seem like God's will.

Paul prayed three times that the thorn be removed from him.  But it was not removed.  God said to him,  My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness.  II Cor. 12:9  After that, Paul accepted the will of God in the matter.

Learn to live by the following instruction::

Jesus said ... Mt. 6 ... Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? 26Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they? 27 Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature? 28And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: 29And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 30Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith? 31Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? 32(For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. 33But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. 34Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.


Paul said ... I Tim. 6 ... But godliness with contentment is great gain. 7For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. 8And having food and raiment let us be therewith content. 9But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. 10For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.  11But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness. 12Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.

Promotion comes from God

Psa. 75 ... For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south.  7But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another.

To accomplish HIS own purpose, God often sets a person up in a place.  Sometimes that person can be evil sometimes that person can be good.  Regardless, God sets it up.  God set up king of Babylon to bring judgment against Israel because Israel would not obey HIM.  God set up Joseph in Egypt to save Israel in time of famine.

Daniel was set up by God.  God gave the king a dream which greatly troubled king.  The king required interpretation from his wise men.  But since the king did not trust his wise men, he required them to first tell him the dream and then the interpretation.  The wise men replied:  There is not a man upon the earth that can shew the king’s matter: therefore there is no king, lord, nor ruler, that asked such things at any magician, or astrologer, or Chaldean. 11And it is a rare thing that the king requireth, and there is none other that can shew it before the king, except the gods, whose dwelling is not with flesh.  Daniel 2

The king then ordered that the wise men be killed.

Then Daniel went in, and desired of the king that he would give him time, and that he would shew the king the interpretation.  Daniel 2:16

Daniel turned to God and waited on God and God gave Daniel the dream and the interpretation.  Daniel 2

I thought of how God set the "promotion" up by causing circumstances in the life of the king and putting Daniel in the situation with the answer.

The same thing happened with Joseph.  After Joseph's brothers sold Joseph into bondage, the situation came that the Pharaoh had a troubling dream.  Joseph interpreted the dream and Pharaoh put Joseph in charge of all Egypt.

Prov. 18:16 ... A man’s gift maketh room for him, and bringeth him before great men.

Nothing is hidden from God

Since the bombings at the Boston marathon a few weeks ago, some of the news reporters have talked about cameras in public places and other ways United States government agencies are constantly trying to monitor for danger, such as other terrorist attacks.  A great deal of money and effort is spent, yet they are unaware of some of the things they want to stop. 

While thinking about this, I was reminded that God knows all things.  Nothing is hidden from God.  God knows even the number of hairs on our head. 

Matthew 10:29 Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father. 30 But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. 31 Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows.

God is aware of each thing about us and each thing that concerns and affects us.  If it is the will of God for something to be stopped, He will stop it.  When we go through adversity, we are promised that God will not leave nor forsake those who belong to Him (Hebrews 13:5).

And since nothing is hidden from God, He knows everything we do.  Nothing we do, say, think, or have in our heart is hidden from God. 

Luke 12:1 In the mean time, when there were gathered together an innumerable multitude of people, insomuch that they trode one upon another, he began to say unto his disciples first of all, Beware ye of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy. 2 For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known. 3 Therefore whatsoever ye have spoken in darkness shall be heard in the light; and that which ye have spoken in the ear in closets shall be proclaimed upon the housetops.

Man tries to hide his deeds from other men.  But no one can hide from God.

Philippians 1:6 ... Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:

None of us belong to God by our own will.  (Romans 9:16)

We who belong to God belong by God's will, because God chose us just as God chose Abraham in the Old Testament and as God chose the nation of Israel to be His people in the Old Testament.

Since it is God who started the work in us, it is God we trust to finish that work.

We read the Bible.  We pay attention to that which we read.  We try to adjust our lives daily to that Word.  But it is God we trust to keep us by His Spirit that dwells in us.  

Innocent?

God speaking to Jeremiah the prophet said ... Seest thou not what they do in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem? 18The children gather wood, and the fathers kindle the fire, and the women knead their dough, to make cakes to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto other gods, that they may provoke me to anger. 


God was showing no one was innocent.

Often we hear newscasters speak of the innocent children.  But all are born of sin nature and as soon as a child can walk, he begins to participate in that sin nature.  A child does not have to learn to sin.  Sin is born in the human.  It is the "nature" of man to sin.

Refraining from strife

Proverbs 20:3 It is an honour for a man to cease from strife: but every fool will be meddling.

The flesh loves to be "right" and tries to gain honor for itself by proving it is right.  Much strife results in doing this. 

But wisdom from God is that it is an honor to cease from strife.  We receive honor from God as we keep the flesh from entering into strife, and go in the ways the Holy Spirit leads in the situation. 

Recently while reading the following, it stood out to me that after Jesus did wonderful things ... teaching that it is lawful to do well on the sabbath, and healing the man with the withered hand ... the Pharisees wanted to destroy Jesus. 

Matthew 12:10 And, behold, there was a man which had his hand withered. And they asked him, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath days? that they might accuse him. 11 And he said unto them, What man shall there be among you, that shall have one sheep, and if it fall into a pit on the sabbath day, will he not lay hold on it, and lift it out? 12 How much then is a man better than a sheep? Wherefore it is lawful to do well on the sabbath days. 13 Then saith he to the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched it forth; and it was restored whole, like as the other. 14 Then the Pharisees went out, and held a council against him, how they might destroy him.

Jesus lived in the flesh as we do, being tempted in all ways as we are.  But He didn't allow His flesh to rise up and enter into strife with the Pharisees.  Instead, Jesus continued in the way that pleased the Father and which had been foretold by the prophet Isaiah ...

Matthew 12:15 But when Jesus knew it, he withdrew himself from thence: and great multitudes followed him, and he healed them all; 16 And charged them that they should not make him known: 17 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, 18 Behold my servant, whom I have chosen; my beloved, in whom my soul is well pleased: I will put my spirit upon him, and he shall shew judgment to the Gentiles. 19 He shall not strive, nor cry; neither shall any man hear his voice in the streets. 20 A bruised reed shall he not break, and smoking flax shall he not quench, till he send forth judgment unto victory. 21 And in his name shall the Gentiles trust.

Strife is a work of the flesh.  It leads to death, not honor and life.

Galatians 5:19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, 20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, 21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like:of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

Several years ago I had been meditating in scripture about strife being a work of the flesh (Galatians 5:19-21) and not entering into strife.  About that time two electricians came to run an extra circuit for some work being done at my house.  The head electrician told me they would run a metal pipe around two sides of the house.  Knowing this would look very ugly, I asked if he could run it through the basement.  He gave a reason he couldn't do this.  Then I asked if he could run 2 new circuits instead of one.  Again he gave a reason this couldn't be done.  Although I felt these were excuses rather than legitimate reasons, and my flesh wanted to rise up and strive with him, there was strength to keep my flesh under control and I quietly turned to God and committed the situation to Him to work out as He willed.  I knew I had been strengthened to not strive by God when meditating in His word, and was so joyful and grateful to Him as I saw this come forth in my life. 

And God did work the problem out for me.  Wasps were in an area the electricians needed to work in to do what they planned.  Since I hadn't entered into strife with the electricians, I wasn't angry and wanted to help them not be hurt by the wasps.  I went to the store to get spray to kill the wasps.  While waiting for me to get back with the spray, the electricians looked around and found a way to run 2 circuits through the attic, with no ugly metal pipes on the outside of the house.

Scripture: Shared by body of Christ

Joshua 1:8-9 ... This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. 9 Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.

In the above statement, God asks the remarkable question:  "Have not I commanded thee?"

Joshua had a specific assignment from God.  And Joshua knew his assignment.

It is so important for each of us to know our assignment from God.  What has God assigned you?  What is your place in the body of Christ?

Paul said the body of Christ is like a human body.  There are many members of the human body.  The eye does not try to be the foot.  The eye knows it's function and operates in it's assigned place.

The sun and the moon have assignments from God and they operate in their specific assignments.   They have different characteristics.  The only thing that matters is they do not try to function in a position different from their assignment.

Do you know your assignment from God?  Or are you trying to copy another person.  (That will never work.)

When you know your assignment and hear what to do it is such comfort for then when things get really trying you can always return to the full knowledge that it was God who gave you that assignment.And the above scripture tells us how to have the strength to fulfill the assignment.  This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. 

As we meditate continually, day and night, in the Bible, our eyes are opened by God to specific scripture and as we do that scripture we end up getting exactly where God wants us.

Several years ago, God said to me:  "One step at a time ... it is enough."

We read the Bible and take the step we see to do by the Word of God and we end up tomorrow where we should be without having to think about it or plan for tomorrow.

Another word God gave me several years ago is the following:  "Turn as the path turns."

The word of God causes the path to turn in that we see some way to go and we make a change from the way we were going.

It is so simple.  Read the Bible.  Meditate in that which God is saying through the Bible.  Make adjustments to your life as a result.  You will then be where you are supposed to be tomorrow. And you will free yourselves from many things which hinder you.

Seeking sex without issue

Gen. 1 ... And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. 27So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. 28And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. 


But a great many humans want to have sex without having baby so they prepare for things which stop baby from forming.

I was reading in Hosea and came across following:

Hosea 4:10 ... For they shall eat, and not have enough: they shall commit whoredom, and shall not increase: because they have left off to take heed to the LORD.

I thought of humans fighting the words of God in Genesis 28 in their desire not to have children.  What sin this must be in sight of God.  It is like fighting the ordination of God.  It is a desire for sex without any responsibility which is what we have seen sweeping the world today.  What iniquity.

Dead to this world

At one time this world was our life.  We fought to achieve.  We desired praise from men.  We did everything we could to rise to the top in our areas.

After we were chosen by God and became HIS "child", we became dead to this world and alive to God.  Everything changed for us.  And we started going in a way of God which is exactly opposite to the way of the world where we once went.

The whole symbol of being baptized is identification with Christ's death and resurrection.  And like Christ, we become dead to this world and risen with Christ so that we no longer serve ourselves as we once did but now we are dead to the world and free to serve God.

Romans 6 ... Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?  4Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. 5For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection: 6Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. 7For he that is dead is freed from sin.

... Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God

... But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.  

In the past we served sin pleasing our own selves.  But now we reject sin and serve God.

Luke 14:33-35 ... So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple. 34 Salt is good: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be seasoned? 35 It is neither fit for the land, nor yet for the dunghill; but men cast it out. He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.

Forsaking all that we have requires a type of faith in God that causes us to trust in HIS provision above trusting in our own selves.  It is not foolhardiness but rather we who have the Spirit of God are persuaded by God to do something or to speak something.  We realize if we do that  it might cause us to suffer loss.  We have a decision to make.  If we are fully persuaded it is God wanting us to do or say something we are like Abraham, fully persuaded God can raise us even from the dead.  Man can kill our body but not our soul.  Only God can destroy a soul.  But we must be fully persuaded it is God wanting us to do this.  Like Jesus, we do not rush to the cross.  Jesus prayed three times that "this cup" be removed from Him.  Nevertheless not my will but Thy will be done.

Do the word brought by the Holy Spirit

Recently when dealing with thoughts about not being able to do the work of a teacher in the body of Christ well, I was reminded of Isaiah 41:10 ... Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.  That God would strengthen me especially stood out to me. 

Shortly after this while walking through the house, I was reminded of ... For if the trumpet give an uncertain sound, who shall prepare himself to the battle? 9 So likewise ye, except ye utter by the tongue words easy to be understood, how shall it be known what is spoken? for ye shall speak into the air. ( 1 Corinthians 14:8-9 )  I believed this was from the Holy Spirit and that it is true, but didn't stop and look up this scripture and consider what God was telling me in it and to be strengthened by God.  A day or so later as Joan and I were talking, this scripture was called to her attention.  Then I remembered it had also been brought to my mind earlier and went back and looked into it. 

Another example ... Before Joan shared with me that I had opened the door to the devil to attack me by not taking thoughts to God, I had written a message about the attacks.  I planned to add to the message already written about how I had opened the door to the devil.  But then a thought came to just start over.  Instead of taking that thought to God and asking what I should do, I ignored it and continued with my plan.  The message became very confusing and unclear.  Then I remembered the thought to just start over.  After praying, I believe this was the Holy Spirit guiding me in what to do, and a much clearer message came forth. 

The Holy Spirit was bringing help to strengthen me, but I was not paying attention.  I asked God to help me pay attention to each word HE speaks to me.  A little later a thought came, which I believe was from the Holy Spirit,  to start writing down each word I receive.  I've started doing this.  When a scripture stands out to me when reading the Bible or messages on the blog, or a thought comes, or a dream ... I try to write these down and then turn to God asking Him to help me understand and do according to what He is saying to me.  When thoughts come from the devil, I try to write them down, so I remember to turn to God and receive HIS word about that thought, which I also write down.  Writing these has been helping me remember to turn to God with each of these things and allow Him to work with me by His Spirit, to do and be conformed to the word.

James warned us about hearing the word of God but not doing it, saying we deceive ourselves ...

James 1:22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. 23 For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: 24 For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was. 

25 But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.

We are blessed by God when we hear, do, and continue in the word God gives to us. 

God's name alone is excellent

Almost from birth, most children try to outdo others and to draw attention to themselves.  A major goal for humans is to outdo other people.  This is the nature of man, the nature of the flesh.  It is opposite to the way of God.

By the Spirit of God, the apostle Paul taught us the following:


Phil. 2 ...  Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: 6Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: 7But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: 8And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.  

Bit by bit after God reveals HIMSELF to us as HIS chosen, we are reconstructed in the image of Christ.  We don't learn these things all at once but as we continue with God, doing the Word of God as HE reveals it to us, we change a little at a time.


Several months ago, I deliberately set aside from my life anything that would cause me to achieve and bring personal recognition to myself.  I purposed to make myself of no reputation.  For approximately 8 months I consciously focused on the above scripture which tells us to let this mind of Christ be in us where we make ourselves of no reputation.  This is the way of God.

Col. 3 ... For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. 4When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.

 Psa. 148 ... Let them praise the name of the LORD: for his name alone is excellent; his glory is above the earth and heaven.

Psalm 111:10 ... The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever.

What is the fear of the Lord?

The "fear of the Lord" is a respect for the word spoken by GodWhen you have a respect for the word spoken by God you are "afraid" to do anything other than that word spoken by God.  You have an understanding that God is authority over you and HIS word reigns over you and it would be very foolish to go any direction other than the way shown by HIS word.

This is the fear of the Lord.

Example:  Paul said ... Phil. 2 ... Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: 6Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: 7But made himself of no reputation,


If you have a fear of the Lord, then you will look at this instruction and realize it is inspired by God and is the way of God for us to go on this earth.

You will restructure your life.  You will give up trying to make a reputation among men.  You will stop trying to exalt yourself among other humans.  You will stop doing anything that causes you to achieve personally and you will focus on one thing only ... "God, what do you want me to do."

Homosexuals: What the Bible teaches

KJV ...I Cor. 6 ... Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, 10Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. 11And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God. 

NASB ... I Cor. 6 ... Do you not know that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God?  Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, shall inherit the kingdom of God.

NIV ... I Cor. 6 ... Do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God?  Do not be deceived:  Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.

Romans 1 explains: Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. 22Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, 23And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. 24Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: 25Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Homosexuals are in category with adulterers and fornicators and they will not inherit the kingdom of God unless God reveals Himself to them and they repent and renounce their evil doing and no longer participate in these evil deeds.

Jesus said we would know the end times because the leaves on the trees would announce the season just as leaves on trees announce summer drawing near.  Mt. 24 ... Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh: 33So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.

Rampant iniquity announces the end and the second coming of Jesus and the judgment of God.

When we see iniquity abound we look for such.  We have seen dramatic increases in open iniquity in our lifetime.  In 1960's in USA it was illegal to practice homosexuality.  Police arrested the openly homosexual men.  Today the police are forced to protect them and the law is trying to require they be upheld.  They are trying to pass a law in USA legalizing marriage between two men.

Several years ago, I received a prophesy concerning the end ... It was "look for the homosexual trumpet".  This would be a signal showing us the closing in of God's judgment.

April 28, 2013, a professional basketball player in USA announced he is homosexual.  This is the first time in the 4 major sports in USA that anyone has announced this.  One of the commissioners made statement prohibiting players from speaking against homosexuals to news media. 

The USA military once prohibited homosexual from being in the various armed services.  Now they are accepted into the military under a "Don't ask, don't tell" policy.  If homosexual marriages are legalized in USA, the military will be required to pay benefit to homosexual mates just as benefits are provided for wives of servicemen.  This will likely happen soon.

All this shows the judgment leaves spoken by Jesus (Mt. 24) surfacing on the tree as the worldly iniquities become more open and more accepted.

While none of us like this as real Christians and we recognize it for the abomination it is, we also know it signals for us the closeness of the return of Jesus.  We need to be even more diligent to keep ourselves in peace, without spot and blameless, as Peter told us to do as we see the day of the Lord approaching.  II Peter 3

How can we live in peace in the midst of the wickedness of this world?

First, we know this world is not our kingdom.  Peter says we look for new heaven and new earth wherein dwelleth righteousness ... II Peter 3  This present world will never be righteous.

Second, we know this wickedness signals the end of this present world and the return of Jesus for the righteousness.

So we can live in peace as we focus on truth from the Bible.

Also as we see the end approaching we increase the exhortations in the church to help the church.

An example of the judgment of God is seen by looking at the story of Sodom.

Genesis 19 ... And there came two angels to Sodom at even; and Lot sat in the gate of Sodom: and Lot seeing them rose up to meet them; and he bowed himself with his face toward the ground; 2And he said, Behold now, my lords, turn in, I pray you, into your servant’s house, and tarry all night, and wash your feet, and ye shall rise up early, and go on your ways. And they said, Nay; but we will abide in the street all night. 3And he pressed upon them greatly; and they turned in unto him, and entered into his house; and he made them a feast, and did bake unleavened bread, and they did eat.
4But before they lay down, the men of the city, even the men of Sodom, compassed the house round, both old and young, all the people from every quarter: 5And they called unto Lot, and said unto him, Where are the men which came in to thee this night? bring them out unto us, that we may know them. 
(have sex with them)6And Lot went out at the door unto them, and shut the door after him, 7And said, I pray you, brethren, do not so wickedly. 8Behold now, I have two daughters which have not known man; let me, I pray you, bring them out unto you, and do ye to them as is good in your eyes: only unto these men do nothing; for therefore came they under the shadow of my roof. 9And they said, Stand back. And they said again, This one fellow came in to sojourn, and he will needs be a judge: now will we deal worse with thee, than with them. And they pressed sore upon the man, even Lot, and came near to break the door. 10But the men put forth their hand, and pulled Lot into the house to them, and shut to the door. 11And they smote the men that were at the door of the house with blindness, both small and great: so that they wearied themselves to find the door.
12And the men said unto Lot, Hast thou here any besides? son in law, and thy sons, and thy daughters, and whatsoever thou hast in the city, bring them out of this place: 13For we will destroy this place, because the cry of them is waxen great before the face of the LORD; and the LORD hath sent us to destroy it.


Notice in this account, the men came from "every quarter" of the city.  They came to have sex with the two men who visited Lot.  The homosexuals were rampant in Sodom.

Gen. 19 ... And when the morning arose, then the angels hastened Lot, saying, Arise, take thy wife, and thy two daughters, which are here; lest thou be consumed in the iniquity of the city.   16And while he lingered, the men laid hold upon his hand, and upon the hand of his wife, and upon the hand of his two daughters; the LORD being merciful unto him: and they brought him forth, and set him without the city. 17And it came to pass, when they had brought them forth abroad, that he said, Escape for thy life; look not behind thee, neither stay thou in all the plain; escape to the mountain, lest thou be consumed.

Gen. 19 ... Behold now, thy servant hath found grace in thy sight, and thou hast magnified thy mercy, which thou hast shewed unto me in saving my life; and I cannot escape to the mountain, lest some evil take me, and I die: 20Behold now, this city is near to flee unto, and it is a little one: Oh, let me escape thither, (is it not a little one?) and my soul shall live. 21And he said unto him, See, I have accepted thee concerning this thing also, that I will not overthrow this city, for the which thou hast spoken.  22Haste thee, escape thither; for I cannot do any thing till thou be come thither. Therefore the name of the city was called Zoar.  23The sun was risen upon the earth when Lot entered into Zoar. 
24Then the LORD rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the LORD out of heaven; 25And he overthrew those cities, and all the plain, and all the inhabitants of the cities, and that which grew upon the ground.
26But his wife looked back from behind him, and she became a pillar of salt.
27And Abraham gat up early in the morning to the place where he stood before the LORD: 28And he looked toward Sodom and Gomorrah, and toward all the land of the plain, and beheld, and, lo, the smoke of the country went up as the smoke of a furnace. 29And it came to pass, when God destroyed the cities of the plain, that God remembered Abraham, and sent Lot out of the midst of the overthrow, when he overthrew the cities in the which Lot dwelt.



I Thess. 5 ... But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. 2For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. 3For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. 4But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. 5Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.
6Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober. 7For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night. 8But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation. 9For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ, 10Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.
11Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.

Can a homosexual be saved?  Of course a homosexual can be saved.  If God chooses to speak and reveal sin to that person, the person is then in a position to repent and be saved.


It is like the woman caught in adultery.  Jn. 8  She was brought before Jesus and after she was forgiven Jesus said to her:  Go and sin no more. 
(Jesus was saying to her do not continue to live as you have been living in adultery ... to the homosexual Jesus would say do not live that way again ... to the drunkard, Jesus would say do not live in drunkenness again ... to the thief Jesus would say, Do not steal again.  Whatever the sin you once committed, stop.)

The homosexual's salvation is like our salvation.  After God reveals Himself to us we are changed.  We no longer do as we once did.  And we are changed again and again as long as we live on this present earth.  God gives us the Holy Spirit to live in us and by the Holy Spirit we are shown the will of God as we go from one issue to another issue in this present life.  And each time we hear God by His Spirit and take appropriate action in the matter at hand, we are changed into the "image" of God.  We change into the image of God as we do the word of God in the situations at hand.

Where is your "kingdom"?

Recently I listened as a woman spoke fervently about the local library.  She had gone to a meeting to try to keep a branch of the library on the south side of town.  As I sat listening, I thought of how important this is to her and to those who attended this meeting.  But this is not my kingdom.  I know so well that my kingdom is not of this world.  If my kingdom was of this world then would I join this woman in her fight to keep the library on this side of town.  But I am dead.  When I was baptized and lowered into the water, the Holy Spirit said, "This is like being dead with Christ."  When I was raised out of the water, the Holy Spirit said, "This is like being raised with Christ."  (Romans 6)

And so it is for those of us who belong to God.  Where we once strove with the world for "good" of the world, we are now dead to the many works of this present world.

Paul explained as follows:  If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. 2Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.  3For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. 4When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory. Col. 3


So as this woman spoke about the local library, I just stared at her.

Jesus said ... My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence.  Jn. 18:36

God gave me a very strong understanding of this concept:  My kingdom is not of this world.

This teaching from God freed me from many concerns of this present world.  This was one of the most freeing things ever taught me by God.  This makes so many things of this world different for me.
