We need to have a couple of kitchen cabinet doors refinished from normal wear. Our cabinet maker Andy, is an Amish gentleman who lives 2 hours away and does not have a telephone in his house or business. Our kitchen is now 17 years old. Andy is an excellent craftsman and although my husband David designed our kitchen there were very few who would build it. We found Andy when he was first starting out and now consider him a friend.
For all of this time we have left a message on the phone booth near his business and he has called us back. We have left several messages in the last couple years about getting the cabinets refinished. Once Andy called us back and said that he would call us with a date to bring them to him to do the work. He wanted to see us and is not often home. (One of Andy's children was born with a serious birth defect. This child has had both a heart transplant and a kidney transplant.....the kidney transplant was 6 weeks ago. Andy's frequent travel relates to the care of this child who is now 16).
Last week my husband announced that he was going to call and we would take the cabinet doors to be done that same week. I immediately started praying for this to happen. Upon the first call, Andy answered the phone!! Not only that, we were able to take the cabinet doors the next day! We jumped in the car and started driving.
It was good to see him and hear about how God provided his son with a kidney match. Andy did nothing but praise God. He also said that he would have cabinet doors done the following week. We were able to tell him of my cancer and healing. It was so WONDERFUL to share what God has done for all of us.
This is an answer to prayer and a perfect example of how all things fall into place when God had HIS hand in it. This visit was so much more than just kitchen cabinets!
Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to HIS purpose.
