When a person is the "son or daughter of Belial".

People among us, even church people, can be such sons or daughters of Belial, saying and doing churlish things, that we cannot speak with that person as we would speak with normal persons.

In the Bible, Abigail's husband was described as follows:

I Samuel 25:2-3   And there was a man in Maon, whose possessions were in Carmel; and the man was very great, and he had three thousand sheep, and a thousand goats: and he was shearing his sheep in Carmel.   Now the name of the man was Nabal; and the name of his wife Abigail: and she was a woman of good understanding, and of a beautiful countenance: but the man was churlish and evil in his doings; and he was of the house of Caleb.

Churlish  is defined as follows:

- ill-mannered, discourteous, inconsiderate, 

- marked by a lack of civility or graciousness

- surly

- rude in a mean-spirited way

- hard to work with or deal with 

- selfish, saying things without regard for feelings of others

This man was both churlish and evil in his doings.  Always causing trouble, often unnecessary trouble.

There are some people like that.  And sometimes we have to live with that type of person.

When I have encountered that, I'm always so afraid my heart will become wrong.

You can try to be kind and you can try to work with that person only to have constant grief and trouble.  Nothing you do or say really works.

It can feel like you are going to be destroyed and in your grief you cry out to God.

I Samuel 25:17   for he is such a son of Belial, that a man cannot speak to him.

What I did when I saw what I was dealing with is to stop trying to speak with this person and I prayed for God to cast those devils out that the person would not be tormented by devils and would no longer torment others.

I know such a person can be saved.  I've seen such multiple times where a person says and does crazy things but at end of that person's life was normal, having been saved even to everlasting life.

A Christian who has the Holy Spirit can also have devils inside him. 

After I was born again in 1975, in the night the Holy Spirit in me cast 3 devils out of me as I slept. 

I was allowed to witness this even as I slept.  

One devil was a lying spirit, another was a double minded spirit, and the name of the third was not revealed to me.

I had the Holy Spirit in me at the time this happened so I know a Christian can have the Holy Spirit and devils in him at the same time.

In one of the instances, I saw a devil (doubled minded spirit) skipping through my chest cavity.  He ran into the Holy Spirit and he darted back and tried to hide from the Holy Spirit.  I heard the Holy Spirit say:  "I see you ... come out of her... you must go ... you must go ... you must go."  (The Holy Spirit pushed against the devil and the devil tore out of me and I awoke coughing.)

When a devil is working in us we often go "mad", saying and doing crazy things ... out of our right mind.

Matthew 8:28-32    And when HE was come to the other side into the country of the Gergesenes, there met HIM two possessed with devils, coming out of the tombs, exceeding fierce, so that no man might pass by that way.

And, behold, they (the devils) cried out, saying, What have we to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God? art thou come hither to torment us before the time?

And there was a good way off from them an herd of many swine feeding.

So the devils besought him, saying, If thou cast us out, suffer us to go away into the herd of swine.

And HE said unto them, Go. 

And when they were come out, they went into the herd of swine: and, behold, the whole herd of swine ran violently down a steep place into the sea, and perished in the waters.

Devils drive humans and pigs mad and cause trouble, death, destruction.  Notice the two men with devils were so "fierce" no one could come near them.  When the devils came into the pigs, the pigs became so crazy they went off a cliff and killed themselves.

I Samuel 25:21     Now David had said, Surely in vain have I kept all that this fellow hath in the wilderness, so that nothing was missed of all that pertained unto him: and he hath requited me evil for good.

25-26   (Abigail says to David)  Let not my lord, I pray thee, regard this man of Belial, even Nabal: for as his name is, so is he; Nabal is his name, and folly is with him: but I thine handmaid saw not the young men of my lord, whom thou didst send.

Now therefore, my lord, as the Lord liveth, and as thy soul liveth, seeing the Lord hath withholden thee from coming to shed blood, and from avenging thyself with thine own hand, now let thine enemies, and they that seek evil to my lord, be as Nabal.

* Don't allow yourself to "regard" such a person.

Regard: consider or think on such a person, concern yourself with such

29   Yet a man is risen to pursue thee, and to seek thy soul: but the soul of my lord shall be bound in the bundle of life with the Lord thy God;

31     That this shall be no grief unto thee, nor offence of heart unto my lord, either that thou hast shed blood causeless, or that my lord hath avenged himself:

When a problem arose recently, I cried out to God for help, knowing my own heart was in danger.  For two days, I cried continually to God, asking for help.  But I heard nothing.  I kept crying out.  It was painful.

Then in the night, God gave me the following to show me what was going on in the matter and what to do.

I Samuel 25:17   for he is such a son of Belial, that a man cannot speak to him.

By that word, I knew the reason for the trouble and I saw exactly what I was to do going ahead in the future.

When that word came to me from God, I was totally healed and I knew the answer from God in the issue and I greatly rejoiced.

When we hear from God it works!
